REVIEW: We Tried the NEWEST Disney Breakfast at Trader Sam’s!

Planning a trip to Disneyland and not sure where you should eat while you’re there? Luckily, you’ve come to the right place!

The Disneyland Hotel

Here at AllEars, we know all the ins and outs of Disneyland restaurants — including where you should definitely eat, and where you should skip. We recently stopped by Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar at the Disneyland Hotel for their NEW breakfast menu and are bringing you our FULL review!

Background

Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar is a tiki lover’s paradise! In addition to exciting tiki drinks (both traditional and nontraditional), Trader Sam’s serves up tropical-inspired eats.

During Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Celebration, Trader Sam’s is serving BREAKFAST featuring specialty items like Ube-stuffed French Toast, Korean-style Breakfast Sandwich, Open-Face Lomi Salmon Sandwich, and Tropical Pancakes from 8 AM to 11 AM.

Atmosphere

We stopped by Trader Sam’s during breakfast to try out the new menu. This spot is located at the Disneyland Hotel and features both indoor and outdoor seating, but indoor seating can be limited during busy times of the day. Oh, and did we mention that the full cocktail, beer, and wine menu is available during breakfast?!

But enough about that, what are we eating?!

Food & Drinks

To start our breakfast on a high note, we grabbed a SECRET MENU cocktail. The DOLE Whip Float cocktail is made with Pineapple DOLE Whip, pineapple juice, and coconut rum. If you’ve ever had a DOLE Whip Float and you like rum, you definitely need to try this!

They give you a heaping amount of DOLE Whip on top with a great pour of the coconut rum. We could have had just this for breakfast and been perfectly happy. 5/5, highly recommend.

We also picked up the Ube-Stuffed French Toast, which you can get for $19.
This is made with Japanese milk bread, coconut custard, Ube Diplomat cream, and fresh tropical fruit.

Ube-stuffed French Toast

First off, this dish is beautiful! Tons of food and tons of fruit! This was a very sweet and filling breakfast. If you love Ube, you will thoroughly enjoy this dish. The Ube cream is smooth and has a custard-like consistency. The French toast is cooked well — it had a nice crust but was still nice and soft, and we enjoyed each bite with a piece of fruit.

It comes with a side of butter and syrup. The syrup isn’t overly “maple syrup” as to not take away the taste of anything on the dish, just to enhance the sweetness. You almost don’t need the syrup, but try it! If you are in the mood for a fun environment and a delicious breakfast, go to Trader Sam’s!
