For the past few months we’ve been excitedly watching progress on the new Moana-inspired attraction coming to EPCOT.

Recently, Disney shared a new look at the attraction, including details on the rockwork being sculpted. And today at a media preview for the D23 Expo, we got a look at a MASSIVE addition that will be part of the attraction!
Disney shared a new look at Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana during a media preview of the Wonderful World of Dreams Exhibit.

As part of the exhibit, they revealed that the new attraction will include a huge 16-foot tall Te Fiti! We got our first look at the addition…

…including a look at how it will fit into the attraction as a whole!

According to Disney, the attraction will be an “immersive exploration trail.” It’s designed for all ages, and will be an experience that lets guests explore and engage with water”, learning about its process of traveling from the sky to the ocean and back again.

Fans of the movie Moana will be thrilled to see familiar characters throughout, including Te Fiti as we’ve seen previewed here! Additionally, we’ve gotten a look at sculptors working on Moana herself for the attraction.

While Disney still hasn’t revealed an official opening date for this attraction yet, we’re hopeful that the D23 Expo could bring some more exciting news about it!
