Why March 1st Is Going to Be CROWDED in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

When looking ahead to 2026, there’s a LOT to look forward to in Disney World.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster

This is specifically true for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where we’re expecting the updated version of Animation Courtyard, soon to be called The Walt Disney Studios, to open in Summer 2026, and the new version of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is expected to open in Summer 2026 as well. However, that means that there’s ONE day in March that’s about to be wildly popular, and you’ll want to snag your park pass (if you have a ticket that requires one) ASAP.

Recently, Disney revealed that the final day to experience Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith will be March 1st, 2026, which means this version of the ride will be closed FOREVER on March 2nd.

Final days of attraction operation in Disney World are almost always SUPER crowded, and for Annual Passholders and other non-date-based ticket holders, often find that park passes will sell out weeks in advance. If you know you’d like to be in person for the final day of Aerosmith’s version of this ride, we recommend snagging yours sooner rather than later.

The pre-show of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster was removed at the beginning of December

Now, as a reminder, this ride isn’t going away; it’s just switching themes! Instead of being themed to Aerosmith, when it reopens in summer, it’ll be themed to the Muppets — more specifically, Dr Teeth and the Electric Mayhem. We’ve gotten a look at concept art for this new version of the ride, and are really looking forward to it, though we will miss jamming out to Aerosmith during our rides!

We know that G-Force Records will look a little different as the Muppets take over, thanks to some help from Scooter’s uncle, real estate pro and owner of the Muppet Theatre, J.P. Grosse. Outside the attraction, the large guitar will get a groovy, colorful makeover inspired by the Electric Mayhem’s van. The piano motif at the base will feature a golden key “as a nod to a certain far-out band leader.”

The new story of this attraction will be similar to what it is now, just with Muppets! The Electric Mayhem band is headlining its biggest concert EVER, and you’ve been given VIP passes, which means you can come inside the recording studio, where you discover the Electric Mayhem laying down some great tracks with the penguins acting as their audio engineers. Scooter is trying to convince the band to stop their jam session and asks the riders for help in getting the band to their concert on time. During the ride, you’ll rock out to the Electric Mayhem playing some of the most iconic, rockin’ hits to keep the music and adrenaline pumping.
