Disney World Just Filed a Permit for Construction in Fantasyland

Even more construction is heading to the Magic Kingdom, as Disney has filed a permit for work on Sir Mickey’s.

The permit, recorded on September 24th, is a Notice of Commencement for work on the Fantasyland shop, specifically describing the installation of “scenic and prop elements” as well as “audio and lighting equipment.” Given the fact that the store hosts a PhotoPass studio tied to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, this work could be linked to the upcoming changes coming to the popular makeover experience.

According to Disney, “New enhancements are coming to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, including special visits from The Fairy Godmother!” This new, character-based portion of the experience could likely be staged partially in the former PhotoPass studio.

In addition to the Fairy Godmother, Disney is also changing the menu of offerings from the boutique. According to the company, they’re “rolling out new, simplified package options.” These updates are scheduled to open in early October.

The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique concept first launched in Disney Springs almost 20 years ago and came to the Magic Kingdom in 2007. The experience offers themed costumes, styling and accessories that will have “children ready for a royal ball or a daring adventure.”
