5 Things We’re Literally Begging Disney Adults To Stop Doing in Magic Kingdom

For many of us Disney Adults, Magic Kingdom is a place of joy, nostalgia, and childhood dreams. That being said, some seem determined to make it their own personal kingdom.

Magic Kingdom

We get it – you love Disney. So do we. But we need to have a chat. See, there’s a fine line between being a passionate fan and making the park experience less magical for everyone around you. So, here are five things we’re literally begging Disney Adults to stop doing in Magic Kingdom.

Treating Cast Members Like Your Personal Assistants

Cast Members (CMs) are the backbone of the Disney experience. They are here to create magic and ensure things run smoothly. They are not here to be your personal photographers, itinerary planners, or emotional support therapists when the wait time for your favorite ride (say Space Mountain) is longer than expected.

Cast Members are redirecting guests

Yes, they’ll help you when they can. It’s part of what makes Disney, well, Disney, but there’s a big difference between asking a quick question and demanding they cater to your every whim. So, before you start barking orders at the nearest CM, remember that a little kindness goes a long way, and treating them with respect makes the park experience better for everyone.

Quoting Every Line From Every Pre-Show

Look, we all love the Haunted Mansion’s stretching room monologue as much as you do. But do you know what we love even more? Actually hearing the attraction’s pre-show instead of your unsolicited rendition.

Inside the Haunted Mansion

We’re all here because we love Disney, and we all have our favorite lines, but when you loudly recite every word of a pre-show, it kind of ruins the moment for first-time visitors or those who just want to experience it as intended.

Same goes for correcting Cast Members on obscure Disney history facts. Trust us, they know their stuff. Just enjoy the ride, let everyone have their moment, and maybe save your dramatic reading of “There’s always my way…” for your bathroom mirror.

Completely Ignoring Spatial Awareness

Disney crowds are no joke, and yet some people act like they’re the only ones in the park. If you’re part of a group of ten and you’re walking side-by-side like you’re leading a parade down Main Street, please…just don’t. Similarly, if you need to debate lunch options, for the love of Mickey, step to the side. Stopping dead in the middle of a busy walkway is a surefire way to annoy everyone around you.

Magic Kingdom is a maze of excited kids, strollers, and people desperately trying to make their Lightning Lane reservations in time. A little spatial awareness goes a long way in making the park experience better for everyone. Walk with purpose, move to the side when necessary, and for the sake of all things magical, do not block the castle view with your entire party while you figure out if you’re in the mood for a DOLE Whip.

Loudly Complaining About Prices (Like You’ve Never Been Here Before)

Hopefully this isn’t a new flash, but in case you’re new here: Magic Kingdom is expensive. Yes, that Mickey pretzel can cost about as much as a full meal outside the park. No, we don’t love it either, but loudly complaining about it while you’re in line for popcorn isn’t going to change anything.

The thing is, if you’ve been to Disney before, you know what you’re getting into. If you haven’t, well…sorry to be the bearer of bad news (and welcome to the club). Either way, we all understand that theme park pricing can be wild. Let’s just embrace the magic and focus on having fun instead of loudly announcing the price of everything like we’re all about to stage a revolt.

Not Moving All the Way Down the Row in Shows

Every single show in Magic Kingdom has the same announcement: “Please move all the way down the row to make room for everyone.” And yet, somehow, some Disney Adults still act like they didn’t hear it. Sure, sitting dead center might be your dream, but blocking an entire row so you can claim the “perfect seat” is frustrating for everyone else trying to find a place to sit.

Similarly, let’s talk about the people who see a line moving and take that as their cue to speed walk past the rest of us like they’re about to win a race. If a CM asks you to fill in available space, just do it. If a line moves forward, maybe don’t try to elbow past a family of four like you’re training for an Olympic event. We’re all going to the same place, and trust us, your experience will be just as magical even if you aren’t first in line.

Final Thoughts

We love Disney Adults. Heck, we are Disney Adults. But there’s a difference between being a passionate fan and making Magic Kingdom less magical for everyone else. Let’s treat Cast Members with kindness, let people enjoy the attractions without our personal reenactments, be aware of our surroundings, accept that Disney pricing is what it is, and follow basic line etiquette. Because at the end of the day, the magic is for everyone, and a little self-awareness goes a long way in making sure we all get to enjoy it.

  1. I try so hard to stay out of people’s way and it seems like no one else does. Literally stare into my eyes as you walk into me levels of entitlement.

  2. I really enjoy the fort wilderness camp resort cabins! I miss them terribly. I am the model traveler and I really dislike like people cutting in line. I mainly stay at EPCOT for my whole trip. Not many kids. Also, 5 year olds in strollers is too much. I hate hearing what the prices were. Relax and try to be curtious to others. Trish&Louis

  3. How about ladies, please wear clothing that doesn’t look you just came from your shift at Hooters and your on your way for your set at the local strip club. It’s a kids park!

  4. Why are you blaming this all on Disney adults? Sorry but I’ve heard and seen these same things being done by teens and 20 somethings too!

  5. Additional, stopping taking so much time at character meet and greets if you don’t have a child with you. The longer they take, the less kids behind them in line get to meet the characters. After all, the characters are more for the kids. That’s how it was when I was growing up and created some of the fondest memories from my visits.

  6. These should be posted at every ride/show in every Disney park! Especially the one about not moving to the end of the rows, that one really grates on me when I see people doing it.

  7. I would never go back to Disney. They have changed everything, somebody put a bee in their bonnet and changed everything. I think it’s stupid. I’ve been doing every year for 17 years plus I grew up on Disney. It’s not the same thing. They should be ashamed of themselves. They did a very bad job.

  8. Constant gouging brought this on.
Adults pay so their complaints at sticker shock pricing, as adults “dynamic complaining”
    Is justified.

We don’t get comped on anything, and don’t vacation anywhere to get shakendown and swindled, we pay taxes for that.

And turnstiles totals tell the story.

Covid gouging to recoup losses had it’s day, but prices of course will never retreat back, so long as the willing were accepting the cost of corporate bailout, via the consumers expectation of value that is no longer there.

  9. I am absolutely guilty of walking past people in mass lines when there’s available space. If we’re waiting for the ferry athe end of the day and you are standing single file with twenty feet of empty queue beside you, I am filling that space.

  10. Everyone thinks prices at Disney is high. Go to a state fair or carnival anywhere and it will be the same. Get over it, pay the price or don’t go.
