Listen, ’round these parts, we love Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

That being said, even though we Hollywood Studios holds a special place in our hearts, it’s not a park we ALWAYS go to. To that point, we thought we’d reach out to you and get your takes on why you might skip heading to Hollywood Studios in 2025.
We reached out to our followers on Facebook and Instagram to ask: “Why might you be skipping Hollywood Studios when you head to Disney World in 2025?” We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments!

Now, let’s go over some of your top responses!
“Every single ride is under construction…”
One of the biggest complaints from our readers was that too much of Hollywood Studios is currently under refurbishment or impacted by construction. Our reader Angela summed it up with, “Every single ride is under construction and no restaurants or live entertainment are open.”

While that might be a bit of an exaggeration, there’s no denying that several major attractions are either closing for refurbishment or soon to be changing in the coming year. For example, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is slated for a Muppets-themed reimagining, and the entirety of Muppets Courtyard will be turned into the new Monsters, Inc. Land.

This has Disney adults who are planning their trips looking at Hollywood Studios and thinking, “Is it really worth a full park day when so much is closed or changing?”
“Not enough for littles”
Another major reason you are skipping Hollywood Studios is that it doesn’t feel like a great park for younger kids. Courtney put it simply with, “Not enough for littles!”

While Toy Story Land offers some family-friendly attractions, Hollywood Studios is still one of the most thrill-heavy parks in Disney World. Tower of Terror, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and Rise of the Resistance all have height requirements and intense experiences that might not appeal to younger kids.

For families with small children, Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom often feel like a better use of limited park days.
“There is nothing new being added until 2026”
All of us Disney fans love new rides and attractions, and when choosing which parks to visit, we often look for something fresh and exciting. Unfortunately, at the moment, Hollywood Studios has a lot more on the horizon than exactly for 2025. Charles pointed this out, saying, “Cuz there is nothing new being added until 2026.”

I mean, I know that EPCOT just finished its multi-year transformation, and now the rest of the parks are about to enter that level of construction, so it’s understandable that you’d want to wait it out by skipping Hollywood Studios in 2025 in favor of when most of the next lands and attractions will be open in 2026 and beyond.
“If time is short, HS is usually on chop block”
For many of you, time is a major factor in park planning. Some only have a few days at Disney World, and when they have to choose which park to skip, Hollywood Studios often loses out. Liz summed it up with, “If time is short HS is usually on chop block.” And Deena shared, “We skipped Hollywood this trip in January. I love Slinky Dog and ROR but it’s not my favorite park and we were on a limited time frame.”

While Hollywood Studios has some great rides, it doesn’t quite have the same all-day appeal as Magic Kingdom or EPCOT. It’s also a tough park to do in half a day because the major attractions (Rise of the Resistance, Tower of Terror, Slinky Dog Dash) tend to have long wait times. If you can’t dedicate an entire day, it’s often feels easier to just skip it entirely.
EPCOT Is Stealing the Spotlight
One of the most interesting responses came from Jessica, who shared that their entire family unanimously picked EPCOT over Hollywood Studios: “We are going on a Royal Caribbean cruise, and we have one Disney day before we fly back home. Our kids (17, 16, 15, 14 and 12) unanimously chose Epcot. We were a little surprised, but I wasn’t going to question all five kids agreeing on something for once!”

This is a fascinating shift because Hollywood Studios has been the go-to park for thrill rides and immersive lands in recent years, but with EPCOT’s recent transformation, it looks like a number of you are prioritizing that park over Hollywood Studios, especially if you only have time for one day at Disney World.
Well, those were just some of your thoughts on why you might be skipping Hollywood Studios when you head to Disney World in 2025, and now we want to hear even more from you! In the meantime, stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest Disney news!

I’ll never go to Dusney, again. I have different reasons, than the article says. Which reminds me- I’m still not sure what the article says is the top reason. But maybe I read it, too fast.
