New preparations are already underway for a highly anticipated new rollercoaster at Disney World!

It’s been a wild ride already learning about the upcoming Monster’s Inc rollercoaster and getting our first look at how it will work. While it was first teased with the announcement of the upcoming Monster’s Inc land expansion for Disney’s Hollywood Studios we weren’t quite sure how soon we would feel its presence in the park, and now we have our answer!
We’re already seeing evidence of the new land expansion and construction over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. When the expansion was first announced, Disney fans learned of a new rollercoaster that would be coming to the Monster’s Inc. re-themed land where Muppets Courtyard once called home.

Now that it’s been a few weeks since the construction walls first went up, it doesn’t seem like Disney World’s wasting any time when it comes to clearing out for the expansion. But the most visible changes we can already see might not be where you would think they should be first.

In a few aerial photos from Bioreconstruct, we’ve caught our first glimpses into the current progress of this land’s transformation! We can already see that a section of the parking lot has been cornered off, cleared, and the light poles that once stood inside have been removed.

It’s an incredible view to get from so far up, considering that from the ground, if you were to try to sneak a peek, you’ll likely just be met with construction walls.

Those aren’t the only photos Bioreconstruct was able to grab of the ongoing construction, though! We’ve also got a status update on the current state of the former Muppets Courtyard area, too.

From the photos, you’ll see that most of the street decorations, tables, chairs, and benches have been removed. There’s not much left in the courtyard that resembles how it was once decorated, with the exception of the iconic Miss Piggy fountain decor and the marquee lettering still up above the former Muppet*Vision 3D entrance.

It’s the first exciting step to what is scheduled to come here for this land of park. While we still don’t have official timelines yet for completion of this new land (or an official name for the new rollercoaster), it’s neat to see evidence of its existence in the park already taking shape.
