Welcome Scarers! If you’re the Disney fan who has been opening every door trying to see new details for Monstropolis, the Monsters, Inc. theme area coming to Hollywood Studios, you’re in the right place.

While we were devastated to see MuppetVision close down to make way for Mike and Sulley, we’d be lying if we said we weren’t dreaming of the new hanging door roller coaster coming to the area. Ready for a closer look at the land?
Monstropolis is relocating to the former Muppets Courtyard location, adjacent to the main entrance of Galaxy’s Edge. Disney is expanding the area and taking part of the Cast Member parking lot to make the area bigger.

One X user, @bioreconstruct, has been getting aerial shots of the area, and when we first saw the area for the hanging door coaster, our jaws dropped. This looks HUGE!

We also got a closer look of Muppets Courtyard, beyond the walls, and it looks like construction is already underway in the area.

MuppetVision fans, you might want to scroll past this photo! The Miss Piggy statue on the fountain is completely gone. Grab a tissue and wipe your tears because we’re going to take a look at everything to come.

What’s this hanging door coaster we’ve been talking about? This will be the first ever Monsters, Inc. roller coaster and will take you on a ride through the Monsters, Inc. factory.

Disney has been very proud to showcase the new technology they’re using for the ride, with the most exciting feature being the initial lift that will pick up your seats, just like the door in the movie.

We also know that there will be dining options and a show, but they haven’t released any further details about them. Here’s a look at one of the most recent concept art pieces Disney has released.

An earlier concept art shows fun, sweet treats, and Sulley hanging out on the streets.

We’ve been obsessed with Harryhausen’s appearance in all the images, and we’re crossing our fingers that Disney will let us dine at the restaurant straight from the movie.

It’s strange to see our previous Muppet area slowly transforming, but we love it when Disney gives us new details, rides, and plans to overanalyze. Make sure you keep following AllEars for all the Disney details you need.
