Alright Muppet lovers, this month is tough for you guys, and we need to check in.

Muppets Courtyard closed its doors forever on June 8th. While Mama Melrose‘s closed back in May, Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo both closed on June 7th. It’s going to be a rough month, so hey, here are some ways to help you make it through June.
If You Need a Good Cry
If you’re incredibly upset about Muppets closing, first of all, we don’t blame you in the slightest. We’re in the same spot and if you need a way to really let your tears out, then we highly recommend watching the new song Andrew Barth Feldman released on his YouTube channel. It’s a thank you to Muppet*Vision 3D, and…well, let’s just say it makes us cry every time.
You can also watch some of your favorite Muppet movies on Disney+, which is ALSO what we’ve been doing. Some of our favorite include:
- The Muppet Christmas Carol (who cares if it’s not Christmas?)
- The Muppet Movie
- Muppets Haunted Mansion
- Muppet Treasure Island

We’ve also been listening a lot to “Man or Muppet?” which has been giving us all the feels.
If You Are Ready to Move On
Now, if you’re okay saying goodbye to Muppets Courtyard and are ready to move on, you might want to know everything you possibly can about the new Monsters, Inc. land coming in its place!

While we don’t know much about this land just yet, we do know it’ll have Disney’s first suspended coaster ever, and it’ll allow us to live out our dream of seeing what flying on the doors from the film would be like!

Based on concept art, we also expect to see a new Harryhausen’s restaurant in the area, which we’re VERY excited about. We’re expecting to see some more shopping locations in the area, as well as (hopefully) another restaurant, but we’ll have to wait until Disney unveils their plans to know what’s officially on the way.

But it’s important to remember that the Muppets aren’t leaving entirely! They’ll be making their way over to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster to replace Aerosmith — Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem are ready to blow your socks off.

While we’re sad to see the OG version of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster go, we’re also really looking forward to seeing how the Muppets will make this new version of the coaster their own.
If You Need Some Retail Therapy
Now if you’re looking for some retail therapy (which, when are we not?) to help with your withdrawals. If you want to play a new board game with your family, the CLUE: The Muppets Game is a fantastic choice.

You can play as some of your favorite characters — Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, The Swedish Chef, Gonzo, and more!
If your kiddos love The Muppets and they love Kermit especially, the Kermit Frog Hand Puppet is a great choice!

His mouth can move, but the rest of his body is just stuffed, so his arms and legs won’t be able to be manipulated. He’s about 24 inches tall, so that’s two feet of Kermit! Perfect for any fans to have on their shelves, or play with for their own puppet shows.
Looking for new stuffed animals for your home? Kermit & Miss Piggy Squishmallows are on Amazon right now that you won’t want to miss!

These are each 8 inches so they’re usually easy to fit into small spaces like on shelves or on your bed. They’re cute as can be and we don’t think there’s ever a bad time for them.
If you’re missing the Muppets before the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster retheme is complete, don’t forget to check in some of the gift shops around Hollywood Studios, Disney Springs, EPCOT, and Magic Kingdom — oftentimes there’s no shortage of merchandise there!
We know, we know, it’s a sad time, but be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest Disney news!
