We spotted something missing in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but it is missing for an exciting reason!

Voyage of the Little Mermaid

The “Voyage of the Little Mermaid” marquee has officially been removed from Animation Courtyard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

In preparation for the brand-new show, “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure,” the sign for the old Little Mermaid show has been removed. While it looks a bit empty right now, we can’t wait to see the debut of the marquee for the new show!

Voyage of the Little Mermaid sign is gone!

The new show is expected to open this summer, so seeing progress on the theater’s exterior is exciting. “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure” will replace “Voyage of the Little Mermaid” in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The “Voyage of the Little Mermaid” never reopened after the pandemic, so we have been eagerly awaiting the opening of this new show.

We have seen progress on the new show, including a casting call for performers and a peek behind the scenes. However, removing the old “Voyage of the Little Mermaid” sign means we are one step closer to experiencing this new show.

“The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure” will feature a new set, a new song, and new stage effects. The opening date for this new show has already been pushed back once. It was initially expected to open in the fall of 2024, but Disney pushed the opening date back to the summer of 2025. We hope this new opening date will stick, as we are thrilled to see the new show!
