We go to Disney World every day, and since we go so often, we know all the best shortcuts around the parks and resorts.Â
These hidden paths not only save us extra steps and get us to where we are going quicker, but sometimes, these shortcuts are less crowded. Of course, we love to share tips and tricks so you can become a Disney World pro, but now we have some bad news: Disney World just closed one of our favorite shortcuts.
If you are looking to get the most out of your day in the parks, one of the best ways to utilize your time is by participating in Rope Drop. Rope Drop happens right when the park opens, and a physical rope literally drops, opening each land in the park for the day.
How to Rope Drop Walt Disney World Like a Pro
Being there for Rope Drop and the park opening can be a little hectic, but it can be worth it in the long run. You may be able to squeeze in a ride right at the start of your day with a lower wait time compared to waiting until the middle of the day when the parks are the most crowded.Â
Last week, we were in Hollywood Studios at Rope Drop, and we were shocked to see that one of our favorite shortcuts had been blocked!
The One Hollywood Studios Ride You Should Rope Drop – And the One You Shouldn’t
We like to cut through Commissary Lane over by ABC Commissary to get to both Muppets Courtyard and Galaxy’s Edge a little bit faster. This shortcut can save you a lot of time instead of having to walk all the way around the building where For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration.Â
A Cast Member stood closer to the entrance of the shortcut that was roped off, and then there was a Cast Member with a sign pointing to Galaxy’s Edge to direct us and others around instead of cutting through Commissary Lane.
While this shortcut being closed during Rope Drop is a bummer, the good news is that you can still use it throughout the day after Rope Drop! However, this has changed our Rope Drop strategy just a bit.Â
We will continue to checkout if this shortcut stays closed during Rope Drop, so make sure to continue to follow along with AllEars for more Disney tips, updates, and news!
