Are you ready to pop the question? (and thinking about asking for their hand while at Disney World?)

We all know that there’s no more Magical Place on Earth than Disney World and seems like many, many couples would agree as there have been countless engagements that have taken place there. Now, if you’re thinking about popping the question, wouldn’t you know it, some of our team members have already done so at Disney World! Now they’re sharing their best tips to help make your special moment absolutely unforgettable!
Be a Little Sneaky
Our team members agree that scouting out the location beforehand is key.

Have a good look at where you want to pop the question, rehearse how you’ll get down on one knee, and maybe even practice what you’ll say (Let’s face it. Those butterflies are real!). This will help you feel confident and prepared when the big moment arrives.
PhotoPass Tips
Remember that Disney’s PhotoPass photographers are there to capture all the park’s magical moments, and your proposal is no exception!

What you’ll want to do is look for a PhotoPass Cast Member who seems to be free and politely (and quietly) ask if they can capture the moment.

Here’s the thing though: they might not always be able to drop everything and cover this for you, especially if you aren’t in line for your photo spot. If they can’t, don’t let that get you discouraged. The most important part is that your special someone says yes! But, if the Cast Member can help to snag some pics, those’ll be priceless memories.

We also recommend going around to PhotoPass photographers around the park and telling them that you just got engaged. They may have some specific pose ideas for you and you can capture the entire day at different places around the park!
Knowing the Rules
Disney World might be the Most Magical Place on Earth, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t rules everyone still has to follow. For example, there might be some specific areas that might not allow proposals.

You’re going to want to do your research beforehand to avoid any hiccups. The last thing you want is security showing up right before you get down on one knee! Basically, if you wouldn’t walk there on a normal day…don’t try to propose there!
If You Know the Proposal is Coming…
If you’ve already spilled the beans about the upcoming proposal (or there’s just a gut feeling), your partner can use the opportunity to get a fresh mani just for the occasion.

Remember that they want to look their best too, so give them the time to get all glammed up!
Beat the Crowds and Celebrate All Day Long!
As is the case with most things at Disney World, if you can get to the park early, you’re going to end up with a win-win.

You’ll typically be able to avoid the biggest crowds, and if you have Early Theme Park Entry, you might even be able to pop the question before the masses arrive! As a bonus, you’ll now have the rest of the day to celebrate your engagement in your favorite Disney World park!
Restaurant Proposals
Thinking about proposing in one of Disney World’s restaurants? That’s a solid option! Here’s what you need to know: The staff won’t handle the ring at any point, but they can definitely be your hype squad after you say yes!

Just let your server know what’s about to happen, and have a friend or family member ready to capture the moment on camera. Also, be prepared for the restaurant to erupt in cheers — Disney magic can be pretty contagious, after all!

Also, make sure you check that ring one last time before you get down on one knee! You don’t want any fumbling or last-minute jitters.

I proposed to my wife after the Magic Kingdom fireworks on the California Grille observation deck. We make it a point to eat at CG during every visit.
