EPCOT’s transformation is almost over, y’all!

This ongoing re-model of the park is about to be completed with the opening of the two new festival areas, CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza. These two new locations will officially open on June 10th and there will finally be far fewer walls in EPCOT. Over the past few days, Disney has offered previews of some of the areas inside the building including the new Mickey and Friends meet-and-greet location, and one of our readers shared their video of their experience with us!
@maddiebell03 on TikTok shared a glimpse into the new Mickey and Friends meet-and-greet area of CommuniCore Hall! Disney recently shared a sneak peek of this character location, but now you can see even more of it including the queue which looks SO cool!

The Mickey and Friends meet-and-greet is just one of the many new offerings at CommuniCore Hall. This will be a festival area that offers demonstrations, classes, and more during EPCOT’s many festivals. It will be open year round, not just during the festivals, and offer places to hang out, enjoy the air conditioning, and more.

We recently saw a sign for Festival Favorites which used to be a festival booth, and we’re hoping to see a year round festival dining location with all our favorite items from the EPCOT festivals. However, Disney has not yet announced what it will be exactly.

CommuniCore Plaza will be an outdoor festival area that can host a stage stage for concerts and the new Encanto show “¡Celebración Encanto!” This show will be a musical featuring Mirabel and Bruno. We can’t wait to see it!

On top of that, World Celebration will be home to some gardens with seating and shade. Each garden is meant to have its own identity and the ability to amplify festival programming throughout the year!
When this new section of EPCOT opens, look out for NEW relaxing spaces to enjoy in CommuniCore Plaza and Inspiration Gardens. This sounds like an extension of the World Celebration Gardens, but we’ll be sure to keep our eyes out for more details.

CommuniCore Hall has a similar design as Spaceship Earth and showcases lots of artistic designs. There is a new mural, beautiful lights at night, and cool theming inside the Mickey and Friends area. It’s going to be a big day when we finally get to go inside. June 10th can’t come soon enough!
