Are you planning a trip to Universal Orlando Resort? Well, then… at the top of your list of decisions to make is very likely where you are going to stay.
We have had a great time at Universal Resort hotels like Cabana Bay and Endless Summer — Dockside Inn. And we LOVE the benefit of Universal Express Unlimited Pass included with select hotels like Portofino Bay. But perhaps you’re considering a hotel off of Universal Orlando property. And if that’s the case, we’ve got some great recommendations for you, too! In fact, we’re telling you about the four BEST hotels near Universal Orlando!
And here’s the good news… you can book any of the hotels we’re about to dive into — as well as discounted park tickets — with a vacation package through our friends at Orlando Vacations. You can explore even more of the discounts they offer HERE!
Okay, now… let’s look at some great digs right near Universal Orlando!
Clarion Inn & Suites
Just four blocks from the entrance to Universal Studios sits Clarion Inn & Suites. This Universal Partner Hotel hosts a Universal Vacation ticket desk in the lobby, and guests can even take advantage of discounts on merchandise, food and non-alcoholic drinks at select Universal Orlando theme parks!
Even though it’s within walking distance, guests can still take the free shuttle to Universal. Outdoor amenities include an outdoor pool with a pool bar, a hot tub, and a sun deck!
The hotel offers free premium wi-fi and is even pet-friendly. The location is also across from the Orlando International Premium Outlets.
Rates start at $81.00 per night, and you can find additional information and learn more about the amenities here.
Grand Hotel Orlando at Universal Boulevard
In addition to your spacious room at the Grand Hotel Orlando at Universal Boulevard, guests also have access to free daily scheduled shuttle service not only to Universal, but also to Walt Disney World and SeaWorld (though the hotel itself is just a mile away from Universal).
Amenities include — but aren’t limited to — free parking and free wi-fi, but guests may especially enjoy the complimentary Continental Breakfast before hitting the parks for the day, and access to the recently renovated heated outdoor pool for an afternoon dip or as an option for some evening relaxation.
Rates start at $57.00 per night, and you can find additional information and learn about more amenities here.
Holiday Inn Lake Buena Vista
The Holiday Inn Lake Buena Vista is a little further out (it’s actually quite close to Disney Springs); however, this hotel offers free shuttle serve to Universal (as well as to Disney World and SeaWorld). And an especially cool feature here is that, in addition to rooms that sleep four, unique KidSuites are up for booking that can accommodate up to four kids and two adults!
The Holiday Inn offers on-site kids’ activities along with a playground and games, while adults can enjoy some time at a poolside tiki bar! And families should be aware that kids under 12 may eat breakfast and dinner for free when they’re with a paying adult.
The hotel is “is fresh from a multi-million dollar makeover and is also a pet-friendly hotel.” Rates start at $62.00 per night, and you can find additional information and learn more about the amenities here.
Mystic Dunes Resort and Golf Club
While Mystic Dunes Resort and Golf Club doesn’t list shuttle service to Universal under its amenities (it’s more on the Disney side of things), it DOES offer four (!!) pools (one with a 2-story water slide through a mountain) and more options for active recreation including tennis courts, bicycle rentals, and “your own championship golf course” with discounted fees for guests!
Spacious room options include 2 Bedroom and 2 Bathroom Suites that can comfortably sleep up to eight.
Rates start at $69.00 per night, and you can find additional information and learn more about the amenities here.
