We got on this ride early and learned all about the seating, storage lockers, ride length, and more. Disney has released more information about the virtual queue for TRON, and some people are wondering whether this will affect the virtual queue for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT. Now we have the answer!

Disney has verified that Cosmic Rewind will NOT switch to a standby line when TRON Lightcycle / Run opens in Disney World (according to Scott Gustin). Some people were wondering if Cosmic Rewind would get rid of its virtual queue once TRON started to use one, but it appears this is not the case. The EPCOT coaster will continue to use a virtual queue even after April 4th.

Other big rides have opened in Disney World with a virtual queue and then later switched to a standby line. It seems like Cosmic Rewind is still very popular, though, and a standby line may not be the best option for now, while demand is still so high for the attraction.

For both Cosmic Rewind and TRON Lightcycle / Run, you’ll have two chances to enter the virtual queue — once at 7AM and again at 1PM (there’s another opportunity at 6PM for those guests who are staying for Extended Evening Hours). For the 7AM queue, you do not have to be inside the park but you must have a Park Pass Reservation for the correct park (Magic Kingdom for TRON and EPCOT for Cosmic Rewind). For the 1PM queue, you must be inside the correct park.

Remember that park hopping is still not permitted before 2PM each day, so if you’re trying to get in the afternoon queue for either ride, you will either need to have a park pass and ticket or keep your fingers crossed that there’s still availability an hour after the queue opens.
