The IMPORTANT Fireworks Change You Need To Know About in Magic Kingdom

We know it’s a lot keeping up with all the changes happening in Disney World right now, especially in Magic Kingdom, because a lot is going on. Magic Kingdom is getting a new land and a Frontierland expansion. Two rides are getting major updates. Cinderella Castle is getting repainted.

Happily Ever After

There’s another change, though, that we want to make you aware of. Magic Kingdom’s popular nighttime fireworks show, Happily Ever After, will be changing soon, on March 8th.

The time you watch Happily Ever After will change on March 8th in Magic Kingdom as the fireworks show moves from its current time at 9 PM to 9:30 PM. This is to account for the longer days that come with spring and summer in Disney World. Daylight Saving Time also begins on March 8th, so the new time lines up with that, and we often see a showtime change due to that. It might seem like a small change, but if you’re not prepared, it could mean you miss out.

That means you’ll have a little longer during the day to find a good spot to see the fireworks. Or if you choose to skip the fireworks for a unique view, you might want to make sure you’re in line for one of Disney World’s outdoor rides at around that time. Or if you like to avoid the fireworks crowds completely, you might choose to leave the park before they start.

If you are looking for a better way to get great viewing of the fireworks, you might want to consider the Happily Ever After dessert party. You can choose a party either before or after the fireworks with a view from Tomorrowland Terrace or Plaza Garden (our choice is Plaza Garden because that dessert party is slightly cheaper and we think it has the better view). You can learn more about the dessert parties here.

As always, keep an eye on the My Disney Experience app when you visit Magic Kingdom to double-check all show and performance times, as those could change. We’ll also let you know when we spot changes, so check back with AllEars again soon for more.
