REVIEW: I’ve Tried Every Waffle in Disney World, And This Might Be My New Favorite

We have a lot of favorite snacks in Disney World, but we especially love snacks that come on waffles. One of our favorite places to get waffle snacks is in Disney Springs at Marketplace Snacks.

Savory waffles are here!

Here’s the thing, though: until recently, Marketplace Snacks only had sweet waffles. Well, now, you can get savory waffle snacks here with three new menu items, and we’re trying them all.

So let’s get right to it. We ordered all three new savory waffles, starting with the Cheeseburger Waffle for $12.99. This waffle includes a special blend of ground beef, crispy bacon, creamy cheddar cheese sauce, dill pickles, iceberg lettuce, diced tomato, and a savory burger sauce. It’s a burger….in that fun Mickey bubble waffle. Although this one is expected to be the most popular, it wasn’t our favorite. It just didn’t work for us.

Cheeseburger Waffle

We think part of the problem is that the waffle is still the same sweet waffle you get with the dessert waffle snacks. It just doesn’t vibe with the cheeseburger flavors. Now, the burger sauce is delicious, but it makes the waffle soggy, and then it’s a soggy waffle in burger sauce, and that’s just not appetizing. We also thought the waffle needed more ground beef. It’s heavy on the other toppings, but we got about three bites of ground beef plus the crispy bacon. We think if the waffle were more savory itself, this could work way better.

It’s getting soggy

Then we tried the BBQ Brisket Mac and Cheese Waffle for $12.99 with smoky brisket, creamy mac and cheese, sweet black pepper BBQ sauce, pickled onions, and chopped parsley. The smokiness of the barbecue sauce with the pickled onions and huge chunks of brisket pair so well with that sweet waffle. This time, Disney didn’t skimp on the meat, and we appreciate it.

BBQ Brisket Mac and Cheese Waffle

The mac and cheese is deliciously creamy and cheesy with a nice smooth sauce that’s thick enough not to get the waffle all soggy really fast. The only issue we have with this snack is that the brisket isn’t the best quality, and it’s a bit dry and difficult to chew. You will need a fork for this one for both the meat and the mac and cheese. With that being said, though, we’ll get this one again.

Our favorite!

Finally, we ordered the Hot Honey Chicken Waffle with crispy fried chicken bites, black pepper candied bacon, spicy pickle slaw, roasted jalapeños, garlic ranch, and chopped parsley for $12.99. This is the one we were most excited about. We were really hoping this waffle would lean into classic hot honey flavors, but it did not. The ranch dressing is our first issue. Now, we love ranch, but it isn’t working here except to create another soggy waffle situation. It also just doesn’t taste like it belongs with the hot honey chicken.

Hot Honey Chicken Waffle

Then there’s the other issue: these savory flavors don’t meld with the sweet waffle. Now, there was also a ridiculous amount of slaw on this for some reason, and that adds some nice crunch. There are also some decent chunks of chicken with hot honey sauce on them, so we’ll rank this one higher than the Cheeseburger Waffle. That chicken needed MORE of the hot honey sauce, though, to add some extra flavor.

We are not feeling the ranch

Overall, though, these new savory waffles are a nice addition to Marketplace Snacks. If we had to recommend one, though, we’d say go for the BBQ Brisket Mac and Cheese because that was hands-down our favorite.

We’ll be trying more new snacks in Disney World, so check back with AllEars again soon for more food reviews.
