NEW Spaceship Earth Lights in EPCOT Honor Figment, Illuminations, and Walt Disney

Today is a HUGE day in Disney World. Although Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration is still going on, today marks another BIG anniversary at the resort: it’s EPCOT’s 40th birthday!

We’ve been celebrating all day long, too! We’ve eaten a lot of 40th anniversary snacks and shopped for some fun 40th anniversary merchandise. But the celebration continues into the night with some new lighting effects on Spaceship Earth!

Tonight, Spaceship Earth celebrated EPCOT’s 40th anniversary with a special Beacons of Magic light show.

Each night, Spaceship Earth lights up however the themes change constantly — we’ve seen new lights for each EPCOT festival!

The new 40th anniversary edition featured songs from Illuminations and “One Little Spark” from Journey Into Imagination.

There’s even a quote from Walt Disney!
