When you’re in Disney World, you may notice rides temporarily close. This can happen for many different reasons, but if you’re on the ride when it needs to close, you may need to be evacuated off of it!

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway

Last night, we were evacuated off of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and this is what it looked like!

We were riding Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway yesterday when all of a sudden, the ride stopped, the lights went off, and the animation stopped. Cast Members then came around to all of the ride vehicles with step stools to help everyone down and out of the train.

Everyone was evacuated off of the ride!

We then began walking back through the ride and got to see some of the scenes with the lights on!

According to the Cast Members, one of the ride vehicles stopped responding which resulted in the ride needing to be reset and everyone needing to evacuate for safety.

The ride needed to be reset, so everyone was evacuated.

Since the evacuation happened so late in the evening, everyone received a free Lightning Lane that became valid at 9:07PM last night and remained valid through today.

  1. Same thing happened to us in March. The reason then was a kid threw up. Guess it must of went all over the floor affecting sensors.
