“The Festival of the Lion King” show in Animal Kingdom hasn’t been quite the same since Disney World reopened following the post-pandemic closures.
Though fans can still catch some awesome singing and dancing, some beloved parts of the show have been missing for a few years now. But soon that’s all about to change! The iconic tumble monkeys and more are coming BACK to the show soon, and now we’ve got a HUGE update!
Upon its return, the modified version of the Animal Kingdom show was renamed “A Celebration of the Festival of the Lion King.” But soon “A Celebration of the Festival of the Lion King” will be unavailable ahead of the changes that will bring back some of the more traditional show.
According to the Disney World website, “A Celebration of the Festival of the Lion King” will NOT be available from July 5th through July 15th.
The show will temporarily close during this time as Disney prepares to “welcome back Festival of the Lion King beginning July 16th.”
According to Landon McReynolds, a news and digital content creator for News 6 WKMG, Disney has indicated that the tumble monkeys and acrobatic birds will be returning on July 16th.
We cannot wait to see these special acts return to the stage in Animal Kingdom! Just keep that temporary closure in mind as it could affect some of your upcoming trips.
