A Fan-Favorite Part of Festival of the Lion King Is Returning to Disney World!

One of the most beloved shows in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is going to see some big changes soon!

In case you haven’t been in a while, you should know that Festival of the Lion King has lately been a modified show called A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King. A few fan-favorite acts were missing or changed in the updated version, but now Disney has confirmed that one of those acts will be RETURNING soon!

In March, we learned that the Tumble Monkeys will be returning to A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King sometime in the coming summer months. And now, Disney has announced that the aerialist dancers will return to the “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” scene!

Currently, this scene has featured dancers dressed as colorful birds, who remain on the ground while performing their dance. Previously, these dancers would include aerialist tricks during the scene as well, soaring high above the stage. And now, this high-flying performance is returning!

Specifically, Disney said, “Not only will the delightful Tumble Monkeys be back to their acrobatic hijinks this summer, but the show’s iconic birds will once again soar above the stage.”

We didn’t get a specific return date for these changes, but based on the language in the announcement, it sounds like the aerialists will return at the same time as the Tumble Monkeys, sometime this summer. We can’t wait to see them return to the stage!
