We’ve seen many attractions close for a short period of time to get some touch-ups, restaurants receive a brand new look and menu, and even some resorts have gotten a fresh new theme. So, to help you plan your week at Disney, we’re covering everything that is closed for refurbishment between September 17th to October 3rd, 2021.

Magic Kingdom Refurbishments

Walt Disney World Railroad

Over in Tomorrowland, Disney has been hard at work bringing the new roller coaster, TRON: Lightcycle Run, to life. But, the construction is currently affecting the train that circles the Magic Kingdom, meaning that the Walt Disney World Railroad will remain close for another week.

It’s unclear when the train will start operating again in the future, but for now, guests can check out all the new 50th anniversary details that have been added to the Main Street Train Station area.

The Main Street Confectionery has also been closed for quite some time in Magic Kingdom, but according to Disney’s refurbishment calendar, it won’t last much longer! The popular sweet shop is set to reopen on September 29th.

If you’ll be visiting before September 29th though, you can still find many of the same treats in their temporary home at the Main Street Cinema.

Disney World Resort Refurbishments

There will still be some closures impacting the Disney World Resort hotels next week as well, though a few are set to wrap up soon! At Disney’s Contemporary Resort, rooms in the main tower will continue to be closed as Disney works to refurbish them with a fresh Incredibles-themed look.

And, down in the main lobby, construction walls will be coming down on Friday, October 1st, as the reimagined restaurant, Steakhouse 71, will officially open. This new dining spot takes the place of the former restaurant, The Wave…of American Flavors.
