PHOTOS: A Fan-Favorite Shop Has Closed for a Long Refurbishment in Magic Kingdom

Disney World is constantly updating and changing its resorts, attractions, and experiences to keep them fresh and new-looking!

PeopleMover during refurbishment

We typically see several ride refurbishments throughout the year, and right now there are resort refurbs going on at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Contemporary Resort. But today, a popular spot in Magic Kingdom closed down temporarily, and it’s one you may not have expected!

We announced a while back that Main Street Confectionery would be closing for a lengthy refurbishment. Disney hasn’t shared any details on what work is being done, but it was unavailable for guests when we stopped by the park today.

Right now, the refurbishment has no set end date on the Disney World website’s calendar, although it is listed to still be closed on June 12th, which is the last day with listed park hours at the moment. Guests are instead being redirected to the Main Street Cinema
