Disney is always working to improve the accessibility of its parks so even more people can enjoy the fun of the Disney Parks!

Disney’s Disability Access Service (DAS) is one of the many ways Disney helps make its parks more accessible!
Let’s break down what DAS is all about.
Who Qualifies for DAS
For this service, anyone with a disability or condition that hinders their ability to wait in line for rides. This includes “visible” disabilities like being unable to walk or stand for prolonged periods of time; “invisible” disabilities such as Autism and ADHD that make waiting in line a significant challenge; and conditions like fatigue, cancer, or any other medical situation that hinders an individual’s ability to wait in line.

Disney can NOT ask for proof or a doctor’s note; in this case, they are trusting guests to be honest about their conditions.
What DAS Does
To make use of DAS, guests need to go to the attraction’s entrance and speak to a Cast Member. They’ll be given a “return time” for the attraction that factors in the current wait time of the ride. This works similar to a FastPass: you can return any time after your return time and get right on the ride. Essentially, DAS users are still waiting for the ride, but they’re able to do so away from the line and in a way that works for them.

DAS can also assist with a number of other needs including their complimentary Disney Handheld Device, which provides assisted listening, captions, and audio descriptions.
Logistics
At Disney World, you can get your DAS card at any Guest Relations desk at the front of each park. Then, you can get your ride return times by heading over to the ride you want to experience and asking a Cast Member for a return time. The guest with the disability does not need to be present for receiving the return times, but they must be present for riding the ride.

At Disneyland, you can head over to the Guest Relations desk and get both your DAS card and your ride return times all in one place. Much like Disney World, the guest with the disability does not need to present for receiving the return times but must be present for riding the ride.

The DAS card lasts for 14 days and works anywhere at Disney World, regardless of which park you got your card in. Similarly, the Disneyland card also works for 14 days and can be used at either park.
DAS Future
Recently Disney announced that DAS features will be added to the My Disney Experience app as part of the Disney Genie rollout in fall 2021. To learn more about the future of DAS’ virtual features, visit our Disability Access Service page here.
