Disney World Has Canceled Select Park Pass Reservations. Here’s Why.

When you’re making your Disney World to-do list, Park Pass reservations and valid admission should be near the top of your priorities.

Magic Kingdom

While Disney has various options for guests who just have theme park admission, Annual Passes, or a stay booked at a Disney Resort, there’s an update to the system you need to know about!

As Disney Park Passes continue to sell out in the parks, Disney World is implementing a new guideline to allow for additional reservations. Valid tickets are required to make Park Pass reservations, but some guests may change dates on their tickets and not their park reservations. Moving forward, Disney will be holding Park Pass reservations when they aren’t connected to valid theme park admission.

Animal Kingdom

This will allow for other guests to have more availability. Guests will be sent a theme park reservation cancellation email prior to the day of which the Park Pass isn’t connected to theme park admission. Disney allows guests to add valid admission to their My Disney Experience account in order to keep their reservations. However, if no action is taken within the 48 hour period, they will automatically be canceled.

EPCOT

This is similar to the previous FastPass updates, where reservations were automatically canceled if there wasn’t a valid resort stay so guests couldn’t take advantage of the 60-day booking window.
