We’ve known that Star Wars: Path of the Jedi at Hollywood Studios was set to be replaced with a Mickey Mouse-themed theater for a while now, but we didn’t have an opening time frame… until now!

We’ve just gotten word that the new theater will open in March 2020, coinciding with the opening month of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway! Read on for a first look at the new venue, plus what’ll be showing inside!

Disney promises a total renovation of the theater, complete with cartoon decor and seats themed to… Mickey’s Shorts! (There’s going to be a lot of pants related humor with this attraction, I can already tell. )
The shorts shown will be drawn from the new style of Mickey Mouse cartoons currently airing on the Disney Channel and Disney+. Disney also promises the release of a new short, exclusive to this attraction! The concept art shows a title card for a short called “Vacation Fun”, but we don’t know if that will be the final title of this exclusive cartoon.
The experience will also feature some special photo locations, where you can insert yourself into the wacky world of Mickey Mouse. It looks like this will be a great accompaniment to Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway!

Where is this located? Is it the old pre-show area of Great Movie Ride?
Scott, it will be in the former Path of the Jedi theater.
