While New Year’s resolutions are just around the corner, Epcot is making some big changes now!
With recent announcements regarding Epcot’s transformation, we’ll be seeing plenty of new and exciting upgrades hitting the park soon (um, four separate neighborhoods?!). Buuut there’s already a little update in the park that we just HAVE to show you!
The International Gateway — commonly known as Epcot’s back gate — has been redesigned to better accommodate Skyliner and Epcot-area Resort guests!
The International Gateway is a path between the World Showcase (near France) to the BoardWalk Inn & Villas and even Hollywood Studios if you want to go all that way! It’s also the place where guests can hop on a Skyliner to soar through the skies to different parts of Disney World. Obviously, it’s a pretty useful spot, right??
The entrance was expanded with the arrival of Skyliner to manage the increase in traffic from guests using International Gateway. Part of that expansion included the now-stately Guest Relations window. This space is giving us European train station vibes with all that honey-colored wood.
We also recently found out that a small lobby will open here. You can’t see the space now — it’s behind the green shrub in the picture below. We aren’t sure what the lobby will entail; we’re thinking some seating for the those who need a respite from the Park, but beyond that, it’s a mystery!
We are SO psyched for all the changes coming to Epcot, starting with the new International Gateway. We’ll keep you updated when the lobby officially opens!
