The day has finally come, and YES, we’ve been dreading this as much as you have been.

Today, we say goodbye to the remaining two open parts of Muppets Courtyard (a.k.a. Grand Avenue) — Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo. What are the crowds looking like? Are there tears flowing into the Miss Piggy fountain? We’re here to cover it all for you, so we all feel like we’re there together!
Today, June 7th, is officially the final operating day of Muppets Courtyard as a whole, as now the area will undergo a complete refurbishment to become the new Monsters, INC. Land!

The good news is that we’re not losing the Muppets forever! We just found out that their Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster takeover will begin in 2026. The current version of the ride (with Aerosmith) will continue to be open throughout 2025.

Disney Cast Members distributed wristbands for people planning to watch the final show, and they were extremely limited. When we headed over to Muppets Courtyard right around 3:30 PM, the wait time for the attraction was 25 minutes, and the line for PizzeRizzo was WILD! By the time it reached 4:30 PM, about 30 minutes before PizzeRizzo was set to close, the line was 40 minutes, and Mobile Order had been unavailable for hours.

With ten minutes to spare before PizzeRizzo closed, we stepped inside to see what its final moments were like. It was SUPER crowded, and there were pizzas galore. We walked around, said our goodbyes, and stepped back outside to experience the rest of the area before it closed for good.

Around that same time, the line for Muppet*Vision 3D had risen to 30 minutes, but the LONGER line we saw was for the PhotoPass spot right in front of the fountain!

We also thought it was super interesting to see the backside of the land open up every now and then — we got to see some scaffolding behind the scenes!

Even Universal got in on the action with a sneaky Tweet of its own. We see you, Universal!
