There are certain times of year when we almost certainly expect to see crowds in Disney World.

The holiday season leading up to Christmas, for example, can be absolute chaos in the parks. Other holidays, like Thanksgiving, could also mean a lot of extra people around. Holiday weekends are also something we warn you about, but one in particular this year could be particularly more crowded than normal.
It’s no secret that Memorial Day weekend often brings big crowds to Disney World. We’re expecting to see a lot of folks visiting this year for Memorial Day weekend from May 24th through 27th. However, that weekend could be even MORE crowded than normal.

There’s actually a big sporting event also happening on that weekend, from May 25th through 27th. It’s the Disney Memorial Day Soccer Tournament at ESPN Wide World of Sports. This event will bring a lot of soccer players and their families to the resort. When they’re not playing, expect to see them at the hotels and in the parks. In other words, that will add to the Memorial Day weekend crowds.

If you are headed to Disney World that weekend, you might want to consider getting up at midnight to purchase Genie+ so you can bypass the long standby lines for rides and use their Lightning Lanes instead. Also, you will want to be up at 7AM going for those virtual queues for those rides that offer them. You might also want to take advantage of Early Theme Park Entry if you’re staying at a Disney World hotel and Extended Evening Hours if you’re staying at a Disney World deluxe hotel.

We’ll be checking out the crowds on Memorial Day weekend and reporting in, so check back with AllEars again soon for more.
