We’re just a few weeks away from the opening of a NEW attraction in Disney World!
Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana is set to open in EPCOT on October 16th. It’s a walkthrough attraction where you interact with various water effects in a Moana-themed setting. And if you’re planning on visiting once it opens, we’ve got big news for you!
The attraction is mostly outdoors, so it probably comes as no surprise that Journey of Water will close when there’s inclement weather in the area. The Journey of Water page on the Disney World website says the following: “Some aspects of this experience may close during inclement weather.”
We followed up with a Cast Member at the attraction in EPCOT, who confirmed that this is indeed the case. We’ve already experienced some bad weather during the Annual Passholder previews for Journey of Water, so just keep that in mind when planning your visit to stop by.
Keep in mind that sometimes outdoor attractions will remain open during light rain, but lightning is often the cause of a closure. If there’s a storm on the forecast, just be wary.
