Disney World Needs New Rules for Journey Into Imagination with Figment

There’s one ride at EPCOT that some Disney fans LOVE and some love to hate.

Journey into Imagination with Figment

We’re talking about Journey into Imagination with Figment! This ride has had a long history in the parks, but over the years, we’ve noticed some things that could be changed. These are three rules that the attraction could use today!

Rule #1: Give Figment Festival Overlays Year-Round

If EPCOT is going all-in on festivals, then Journey Into Imagination should too. Disney already changes Figment’s look during the holidays with his adorable sweater, so why stop there?

Imagine Figment surrounded by paint splatters during EPCOT’s International Festival of the Arts, foodie-inspired scenes for Food & Wine, or floral touches during Flower & Garden. Figment has basically become the mascot of EPCOT festivals — the ride should reflect that.

Rule #2: Make It Known Guests They Can Visit the Imagination Lab Without Riding

One of the best hidden secrets in EPCOT is that you can actually explore the ImageWorks area without riding Journey Into Imagination first — but a lot of guests have no idea. Disney World needs better signage or Cast Member reminders so more people know they can walk in and enjoy the interactive area on its own.

It’s a great spot for kids to burn off energy, cool down, and play without waiting in the ride queue. This is also where the Figment character meet and greet is located!

Rule #3: Warn Parents That This Ride Gets LOUD

Journey Into Imagination may look cute and harmless, but several moments can seriously startle little ones. Between the loud bangs, flashing lights, and sudden sound effects, sensitive kids may not react well if parents go in unprepared.

Disney should add clearer warnings outside the attraction so families know what to expect before boarding with toddlers or sensory-sensitive children. Honestly, my little ones have been sensitive on this ride!
