While folks may still be upset about the fact that they now have to pay to skip the lines at Disney World, there’s no denying that Lightning Lanes are extremely popular.

Despite price increases and even a multi-hundred-dollar option, Lightning Lanes keep selling out in Disney World. With spring break season upon us, we’re seeing that situation happen firsthand.
Lightning Lane is Disney’s paid skip-the-line service, and there are a few different versions. Lightning Lane Multi Pass allows those who purchase it to skip the standby lines at multiple attractions in a park, while Lightning Lane Single Pass allows people to skip one attraction — typically the most popular in a particular park.

Lightning Lane Premier Pass allows guests one-time access to each Lightning Lane entrance at attractions in a single theme park per day, with the flexibility to use it at any time — no need to reserve a time slot in advance, unlike the other Lightning Lane options. This is the priciest option of them all, but that hasn’t stopped people from purchasing it and selling it out during busy times of the year.

That’s exactly what we’re seeing right now across Disney World, with spring break season in full swing. While Lightning Lane Multi Pass hasn’t been selling out too often at the parks lately, the same can’t be said for Single Pass.
Since March 8th, Lightning Lane Single Pass has sold out consistently at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom — all four parks.

Much of the same can be said for Lightning Lane Premier Pass — the most expensive option. Premier Pass has sold out at Magic Kingdom every day since March 8th, and so far, it is sold out through April 1st as well.
It has also sold out 11 times at EPCOT since March 8th, with March 30th and 31st already sold out, too.

While Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom have sold out less consistently than the other two parks, Premier Pass has been bought up with no availability multiple times since March 8th as well.
This isn’t exactly shocking, although many wondered who was actually going to purchase Premier Pass when it was first announced, due to the high price tag. From what we’ve seen, though, there is demand for this expensive pass, and people are ultimately willing to pay for it.

If you’ve got a trip planned to Disney World soon, make sure you purchase Lightning Lane as soon as your window opens so that you don’t miss out and are faced with having to wait in standby lines.
Our top tips for avoiding long lines without spending any extra money are to rope drop the parks (get there right when — or before — they open), get in line during meal times or parades and fireworks, or wait until people start leaving for the night!

You can also take advantage of things like Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours, depending on which Disney hotel you’re staying at. These offerings allow hotel guests to enjoy a little extra time in the parks before everyone else arrives.

We’ll be on the lookout for additional Lightning Lane updates you need to know about from Disney World. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to AllEars for the latest Disney news and more.
