PHOTOS: NEW Disney World Park Map Revealed After Permanent Closure of Hollywood Studios Ride

A big change has happened in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and that means there’s a NEW park map to check out!

Time for a new map!

Yesterday, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith had its final day before closing to make way for the new retheme, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. Now, the attraction is closed and the construction has begun, so what does the new park map look like? We checked it out for you!

You can pick up park maps in the Disney World parks from the very front of the park, as well as ask for them at various shops. While you can also check out the map digitally on the My Disney Experience App, there are MANY more details on the physical maps!

On this new updated version of the map, it now says that the area is the “Future Home of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets,” but it’s clear to still see where the attraction is.

The new map

In comparison, on the My Disney Experience app, you can still see the building, but there’s no mention of the attraction, what the area is at this time, or what’s on its way.

This is different than other spots on the map that are also under construction. For example, over at Grand Avenue, there’s no mention of the Monsters, Inc. land we know to be incoming. Instead, it’s a lot of green space with just the words “Grand Avenue.”

Grand Avenue on the map

When comparing it to the My Disney Experience App, this is actually the same! There’s nothing on the app, as well as no mention as to what it’s becoming.

The same can be said for the Animation Courtyard area. We know this will soon be renamed to The Walt Disney Studios and feature lots of new attractions, but for right now, the only change we see is that it says the area is the “Future Home of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live,” but that’s all!

Animation Courtyard looks interesting too!

When comparing it again to the My Disney Experience App, there’s nothing mentioned at all, not even that the new live show is on the way. While we often say the My Disney Experience App will help you get around the parks, and that’s still true, if you’re looking for ALL the details, it may be best to pick up both a physical map AND look at the digital version.
