Being at Disney World is a magical experience, no doubt about it, but planning for that trip can be, well, let’s say a bit less magical.
It can also be a budget-balancing act. Between park tickets, hotels, and all the Mickey-shaped snacks you could ever want, the costs have a way of adding up really quickly. That’s why finding the perfect (aka cheapest) weekend to visit can make a huge difference. We dove deep into the 2025 ticket and hotel prices to pinpoint the most affordable weekend to visit Disney World. Let’s go over what we discovered!
The Cheapest Weekends to Visit Disney World
Disney’s ticket prices vary depending on the time of year, and so do their hotel rates. We took a deep dive into the 2025 Magic Kingdom ticket prices (since they’re the highest among the parks) and paired them with the least expensive hotel costs (just so happened to be Disney’s All-Star Resort), and we came out of it having identified the most wallet-friendly weekends of the year.
Top 5 Cheapest Weekends in 2025:
-
- August 23rd-24th:
- Magic Kingdom tickets: $149 per day
- All-Star Music & Sports hotels: $159.33 per night
- September 6th-7th:
- Magic Kingdom tickets: $149 (Saturday) & $144 (Sunday)
- All-Star Resort hotel: $166.67 per night
- September 13th-14th:
- Magic Kingdom tickets: $154 (Saturday) & $149 (Sunday)
- All-Star Resort hotel: $196.67 per night
- September 20th-21st:
- Magic Kingdom tickets: $154 (Saturday) & $149 (Sunday)
- All-Star Resort hotel: $196.67 per night
- September 27th-28th:
- Magic Kingdom tickets: $154 per day
- All-Star Resort hotel: $196.67 per night
- August 23rd-24th:
While several weekends in September had slightly cheaper Sunday ticket prices, August 23rd-24th emerged as the clear winner when factoring in both ticket and hotel costs.
Why August 23rd-24th is the Best Weekend
At first glance, September looks like the clear winner as the budget-friendly month everyone should circle on their calendar, and it is…mostly. But the slightly lower hotel rate in late August nudges it ahead as the most affordable option at least when it comes to staying for only the weekend. Staying at Disney’s All-Star Music or All-Star Sports for an average of $159.33 per night, coupled with Magic Kingdom tickets priced at $149 per day, makes August 23rd-24th the cheapest weekend for a Disney getaway.
This analysis doesn’t include taxes or any extra costs (more on those later), but if you’re working with a tight budget, you’ll want to lock in your plans early for that weekend.
How We Found the Cheapest Weekend
For this guide, we broke down costs into two major categories: park tickets and hotel rates.
Park Tickets:
As we said earlier, Disney World ticket prices fluctuate based on demand, holidays, and even day of the week. Magic Kingdom tickets are consistently the most expensive, with 2025 prices ranging from $144 to $199 for a one-day ticket. By focusing on the least expensive days, we were able to zero in on late August and early September as prime time for the lowest ticket costs all year.
The other parks (EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom) also have variable pricing, with tickets starting as low as $119. However, because Magic Kingdom is often a must-visit for most guests, we prioritized those prices for this analysis.
Hotel Prices
Disney’s Value Resorts, like the All-Star Resorts, have a tendency to offer the most budget-friendly accommodations on property. For consistency, we checked the nightly rates for these resorts on the weekends we were comparing. August 23rd-24th stood out again, with the lowest average hotel cost of $159.33 per night.
Additional Costs to Consider
We mentioned this briefly earlier however, although August 23rd-24th is the cheapest weekend overall, it’s important to budget for a few extras:
-
- Lightning Lane Passes: These premium passes cost between $25-$27 in August 2024, so we expect similar pricing in 2025. If you plan to purchase Lightning Lane passes, make sure to factor this into your budget.
- Food: Dining at Disney can range from affordable quick-service meals to pricier table-service options. With that in mind, you may want to start having in mind that your food budget might be $50-$75 per person per day just as an example.
- Transportation: If you’re flying, don’t forget to account for airfare and transportation to and from the parks.
Final Thoughts
Again, if you’re dreaming of a 2025 Disney World trip but don’t want to break the bank, August 23rd-24th looks like it’s going to be your golden ticket. With some of the lowest Magic Kingdom ticket prices and budget-friendly hotel rates, it’s the best weekend to experience the magic without overspending.
