They’re not slackers when it comes to theme parks.
Youngsters may not believe it, but the generation born between the mid-1960s and early 1980s – – smack dab between the massive baby boomer and millennial generations – – like going to theme parks. In fact, many of the franchises that make up the backbone of Universal’s theme parks were roasted during Gen X’s peak years of pop cultural relevance. That in-turn is why they’re rocking these looks at Universal Orlando.
But first, Comfortable Shoes.
Before we get to the fun stuff, there’s something very important: SHOES. A good pair of shoes can the difference between a great theme park day and a foot pain disaster. These women’s New Balance sneakers feature “lightweight EVA foam cushioning in the midsole and heel that increases comfort, and the NB Comfort Insert offers additional cushioning.”
If you’re looking for sneakers that are a bit… BRIGHTER, go for these Brooks Running Shoes.
Available in a slew of colors, these Glycerin running shoes feature Plush Fit, which offers the “plush feel of an internal stretch bootie (that) surrounds your foot and moves and expands with your stride. The engineered breathable mesh upper provides a secure fit while comfortably keeping your foot in place.”
Now that you’re feet are secure, on to the fun stuff, like this Back to the Future Tee!
Back to the Future: The Ride may (unfortunately) be long gone, but the classic film still has a presence in the park thanks to the presence of the time machine and time train. Fans who grew up with the film can celebrate with this retro, 8-bit teen shirt.
If BTTF isn’t your style, how about a Simpsons Tee?
Featuring the whole Simpsons family reaching for a pink donut – – just like the ones sold at Universal Studios – – this shirt is the perfect look for disaffected Gen Xers to wear in the park’s Springfield.
Going back to the feet for a second, deck them out in E.T. Socks.
This triple-pack of socks features Spielberg’s iconic alien in two of his iconic looks, plus the well-known image of a bicycle flying past the moon.
From the bottom to the top, let’s move on to this Jaws Cap.
This trucker cap has a comfortable dad hat look – – and celebrates the iconic blockbuster – – while keeping hers cool with its mesh backing.
Pair your Jaws cap with this Jaws Loungefly!
What? Older people can carry them too…
