Despite being two days past New Year’s Eve, the Disney World parks are crowded!
When we stepped into Magic Kingdom this morning, it felt like we were back in the parks on New Year’s Eve! There are people everywhere in the sold-out parks (silly us for thinking things may start slowing down). We were surprised to see Genie+ prices drop, today, but now we’re not so surprised to see this new update.
When we checked the park pass reservation website this morning, we noticed that both Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios were sold out of select passes!
But surprisingly, Genie+ had DROPPED in price! We had been seeing prices nearing $40 over Christmas and New Year’s, but today, it was down to $29 for Multiple Parks and Magic Kingdom. The other three parks had also come way down from their holiday prices.
It was surprising to see these much lower prices because generally when park passes are sold out and high crowds are expected, Disney will hold those higher prices for the virtual assistant. But that was not the case on January 2nd!
And since the prices were so much lower on such a busy day, we can’t say we were surprised to see Hollywood Studios had SOLD OUT of Genie+ just after 12PM!
If you’re in Hollywood Studios today and haven’t purchased Genie+ to grab yourself Lightning Lanes, you might be out of luck to pass by many of the long lines. And long lines they are! Rise of the Resistance is over 150 minutes while Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is well over 100 minutes! (Everyone is probably trying to ride Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster before it closes for a while!)
Then, later in the day, we saw Magic Kingdom sell out of Genie+, too! Around 2PM, all of Magic Kingdom’s Genie+ availability was gone.
It has become quite common, on these super busy days, for Genie+ to sell out, so be sure to purchase it early in the morning, if you want to use it to skip the lines!
