Stop This Now! Disney World Packing Mistakes To Avoid

If you’re planning a Disney World trip, STOP EVERYTHING YOU’RE DOING.

Sorry, we didn’t mean to scare you, but we know packing is a huge part of your trip, and we HATE seeing people make packing mistakes that can be easily avoided. These are the major Disney packing mistakes you need to avoid.

Overpacking

Airlines will charge you more the heavier your bags are, and if you bring too many bags, you’ll be charged more as well, so DON’T OVERPACK!

That’s not a lot of space!

We know, easier said than done, but we suggest really looking at everything you’re bringing and making sure it’s necessary. Plus, if you have more space in your suitcase, you can bring more souvenirs home!

Buying Essentials Once You’ve Arrived

We talk all the time about the essentials for the Disney World parks — sunscreen, cooling towels, ponchos, fans, and more. So what’s the mistake here? Buying these items when you arrive on your vacation and not before.

The fact is that this merchandise inside Disney World and even inside Orlando will likely be a lot more expensive than what it would be back at home. So to start saving money, buy them ahead of time at home (or have them shipped to you) — you can never save too much money in Disney!

Not Using Packing Cubes

Listen, we’ve been there with you — you have SO much to bring on your vacation but only so much room in your suitcase. May we present — packing cubes.

Packing cubes are a great way to compress the size of all the clothes you need for your trip. This way, you have more room for other supplies. They’re also easy to repack at the end of your trip, so you know how much room they’ll take up.

Bringing Shoes You Haven’t Broken In

We’ve talked your ear off about how important the right shoes are for Disney World (and we will continue to do so — it’s that important), but just as important is not bringing brand-new shoes to Disney.

You’ll be on your feet all day!

Shoes take a while to be broken in, and that’s the matter for most pairs of shoes. You know how sometimes it hurts when your feet need to get adjusted to new shoes? Imagine trying to do that in Disney World when you’re walking thousands of steps. Yep, don’t do it.
