Choosing where to stay on a Disney World vacation can be pretty nerve-wracking!

What if you choose a hotel that’s too loud? Or if it doesn’t have the right amenities? What if you pick one with food that you hate or rooms that are too dark or cramped? There are so many factors you need to take into consideration when choosing a hotel, and sometimes, the Disney hotels don’t live up to our expectations. Thankfully, Disney World has been taking the opportunity to update several of its resorts recently.
There are quite a few resort refurbishments underway these days, and it’s hard to keep track of them all. That’s why we’ve rounded up this list! It contains a sneak peek at EVERY new hotel room design that’s coming soon to the Disney World resorts, so that you can make an educated choice when deciding where to stay.

Let’s dive in!
Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
Let’s start things out at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, where the resort is getting a sort of makeover from top to bottom. Not only are we getting new restaurants outside on the BoardWalk, but we’re also getting updates in the hotel rooms and the lobby.

Disney shared a sneak peek at the updates coming to the rooms at the hotel, which include new furniture, color schemes, and a Mickey and Minnie decor theme.

Disney shared a video tour of the rooms on TikTok and we got a glimpse at the updated storage area and coffee nook.

How precious is that Mickey and Minnie artwork? They’re having a picnic on the lawn!

The rooms are now decorated in pastels and have new laminate flooring. They’re much brighter and less ominous-looking than the old design. (Did anyone else get that feeling in the old rooms?!)

We can’t wait to check these out for ourselves and get more photos when the transformation is complete!
Disney’s Beach Club Resort
Across Crescent Lake, Disney’s Beach Club Resort is getting some room updates as well. We got to tour one a little while ago, and we’re big fans of the new flooring and the Donald Duck-inspired beach design.

The room we visited was home to a King bed and a pull-out couch. There was also new Donald Duck artwork on the wall. He’s at Stormalong Bay!

By the window, there was a little seating bench and a coffee nook with some drawer storage.

We also got to check out the bathroom, which is very bright with an off-white tile shower/tub and dusty blue paint on the walls.

Currently, it’s the Disney’s Beach Club Villas that are getting updated. We’ll let you know if the regular rooms get the same treatment.

We’re excited to see so many changes at the Deluxe Resorts — since you’re paying more, you want your room to be nice!
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort
And finally, let’s talk about the updates coming to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Here, the cabins are getting an overhaul soon. Disney shared the concept art for the new look, which is much more modern.

As part of this change, Disney is building more than 350 new cabins to replace the old ones. These new cabins will focus on the environment, “utilizing the footprint of the existing cabins and taking advantage of more energy-efficient features.” They haven’t shared a look inside the cabins yet, but we’ll be interested to see all the new features.
Other Updates Coming Soon
Those aren’t all the updates that are underway! We’ve also got a few refurbishments happening that Disney hasn’t shared photos for yet. First of all, the guest rooms at the Grand Floridian Resort are all getting updated currently, but so far, we’ve only gotten peeks into the Disney Vacation Club rooms. We’ll be interested to see what the standard rooms look like when they’re done!

You’ve also probably heard about the brand-new Disney Vacation Club tower that’s being built at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. We’ve seen concept art of the outside of the building, but we don’t have any hints as to what the inside will look like just yet.

The third project that Disney hasn’t shared a peek at yet is the refurbishment of the Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. These pricey accommodations are getting some updates starting in 2024 and we’re excited to see what they will look like when complete. We’ve got a while to wait though!

So there you have it — all the hotel refurbishments underway and coming soon! Hopefully these room updates will make your Disney World trip just a little bit better. We’ll keep you in the loop if any more changes are announced.
