If you were not a fan of the EPCOT Harmonious barges, then this post is about to make you super happy.
EPCOT’s Harmonious fireworks show is now one for the books as EPCOT Forever has returned for a limited time (before the new 100th anniversary show debuts later this year). But what’s going to become of the huge barges in the World Showcase lagoon?
With the end of the Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebrations, we already knew that the barges would be removed from the lagoon now that Harmonious has been retired and replaced with EPCOT Forever. (These barges were used as part of the fireworks show, spraying water into the air for projections and serving as a launch point for some pyrotechnics.) Many fans disliked these huge structures, as they were something of an eyesore during the day, blocking the view across the water.
Well, some of the barges have started to be REMOVED.

The “taco” barges have been a controversial conversation piece since their installment at EPCOT, so we’re sure that many of you are thrilled about the beginning of the removal process. The first barge that was removed was the one closest to the Italy Pavilion in World Showcase.
UPDATE: More barges have been removed, including the main, center, and circular installation!
UPDATE: As of around the end of April, only 2 “taco” barges remained in World Showcase Lagoon.
We’ll keep watching for more updates on the progress of the removal of the barges, so stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest Disney news!
