ALERT: We’ve got some breaking news from Disney World!
EPCOT has a lot going on right now — there’s lots of construction everywhere and its popular attractions can rack up some pretty high wait times. While we were walking into EPCOT and the Transportation and Ticket Center today, we noticed that the Monorail was closed.
As of right now, the EPCOT Monorail is currently closed. We spoke with a Cast Member here who said it was “closed for the day”, so it’s unclear if it will reopen today.
We confirmed that the Magic Kingdom Monorail loop was closed as well.
It hasn’t been revealed why the Monorail system is currently down, but we’re assuming it’s likely due to technical difficulties.
This means that at this time, the only way to travel to EPCOT is with a car, or Disney buses, because the Disney Skyliner is still under refurbishment. The Friendship Boats are running as well.

UPDATE: As of 3:30PM, the Monorail has reopened in Disney World.
