Registration DATE & Details Announced for D23 Preview of EPCOT’s Guardians of the Galaxy Ride

Get ready to blast off into space to save the galaxy…the Guardians of the Galaxy ride (Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind) will soon be opening in EPCOT!

The ride is set to open this summer, on May 27th, and we’ve already seen an official commercial, a glimpse at the queue, and more. But if you want to ride the Guardians attraction BEFORE the general public, here’s what you need to know.

D23 Gold Members (as well as Annual Passholders, qualifying Disney Vacation Club Members, and Disney Cast Members) will get the chance to ride the Guardians of the Galaxy ride EARLY in EPCOT thanks to special preview events.

Recently, Disney shared the details specifically for the D23 Gold Member preview event. 

The D23 Gold Member preview event will take place on May 15th, 2022. Registration for the event will open on Tuesday, April 12th, 2022 at 10AM PT (1PM ET) on the D23 website.

The event costs $35 per person (plus a $5 processing fee).

Through this event, D23 Gold Members will get to experience the attraction before opening day, PLUS they’ll get some special extras.

First, D23 Gold Members who get a ticket for the event will check in at EPCOT’s main entrance. Check in is open from 3:30PM through 6:30PM (park admission starts at 4PM).

They’ll receive complimentary after-4PM park admission and a commemorative credential. Then, they’ll have some free time to stroll around EPCOT and enjoy the park.

D23 Gold Member participants will get a $20 dining card which they’ll be able to use at the Flower and Garden Festival or another dining location of their choice.

Then, D23 Gold Members will get to view EPCOT’s new fireworks show, Harmonious, from a reserved viewing area. The viewing area will open at 8PM for the 9PM show.

And once the park closes, members will then be able to head over to the Guardians of the Galaxy ride and experience it for themselves.

D23 Members will also get a D23-exclusive commemorative gift upon leaving.

There are certain restrictions that apply. Members must meet the height requirement (42 inches) to go on the ride, and D23 Gold Members are limited to buying 2 tickets for the event (UPDATE: D23 originally listed that four tickets would be available per party, but due to overwhelming demand that has since been changed to 2).

And, as noted above, note that this is only available for D23 Gold Members (paid members of the fan club), not D23 General (free) members.
