So This is What Happens When Disney Gets Ahold of a 3D Printer…

Lately, it seems like EVERYONE has been getting into the 50th Anniversary spirit in Disney World — even some friends you might not have expected!

Everyone’s all dressed up!

Of course, our pals Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Chip, and Dale are all dressed up in their finest 50th Anniversary EARidescent outfits, but some other little critters wanted to get in on the action, too!

Over at The Seas with Nemo & Friends, we spotted the CUTEST little update for the 50th anniversary: some of the sea creatures in The Seas pavilion accessorized themselves with 50th Anniversary hats!

Little Cuties!

Vice President of Disney’s Animals, Science, & Environment department @drmarkatdisney shared that the aquarists at The Seas with Nemo & Friends pavilion designed 3D-printed Mickey ears for the sea urchins!

Is that not the best thing you’ve seen today?

According to @drmarkatdisney, sea urchins naturally pick up objects for decoration or camouflage. When the hats were placed in their environment, the sea urchins put them on! Not only that, but Ranger the little epaulette shark got a hat, too!

Of course, when you visit in person like we did, you can try to spot all the anniversary hats in the aquariums with your family and friends!

How Many Hats Will You Find?

Well, that certainly put a smile on our faces. We hope you enjoyed it, too! Stay tuned for more fun little Disney posts to brighten your day.
