A new way to plan your day in the Disney World Parks is coming soon!

Last month, Disney revealed a ton of details about the newest planning feature coming to the My Disney Experience app — Disney Genie. Coming this fall, it will change the way that guests go throughout their day at Disney offering up personalized suggestions and introducing two new paid options for skipping the lines at attractions. And, today we got another look at all of the new features and how guests can use them during a special preview event!
Once Disney Genie rolls out in the parks, guests won’t need to download another app to access it. Instead, it will be loaded directly into the current My Disney Experience app, so all you’ll need to do is select the three bars at the bottom right of the screen and that’s where you’ll find the new “Tip Board” and “My Genie Plans.”

The Tip Board will be the new one-stop-shop for finding the latest information on wait times, mobile order pick-up windows at Quick Service locations, and even available reservations and walk-up waitlists at Table Service restaurants. And, it’s all FREE!

So, gone are the days where you have to scroll through and select each restaurant to see when the next pick-up window or reservation is available — it’ll all be on one screen.

And, to determine what shows up at the top of your Tip Board, you’ll be able to select your interests. This includes things like characters that you’d like to see, rides you’d like to hop on, and places you’d like to eat.

Here’s what it will look like when you go to select your must-do attractions.

My Genie Plans is where you’ll be able to find your FREE personalized itinerary, which is updated often in the app based on several variables. For example, it takes into account the current wait times, what you’ve said your interests are, how far you’ll have to walk, and more to help you maximize your day.
This is also where you’ll find your next Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane or Individual Attraction Selection return time. These two new paid services replace the previous FastPass+ system and provide guests with a specific 1-hour time range (which they select) to ride attractions throughout all four parks.

Based on the preview event, Disney Genie+ (which will cost $15 per person, per day) will include attractions like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Haunted Mansion, “it’s a small world,” and Jungle Cruise.
Just keep in mind that Individual Attraction Selections will be a separate cost (which Disney has yet to announce) and provide a return time to Lightning Lanes at rides that are not included in Disney Genie+.

Will you be using Disney Genie when it rolls out in Disney World? Let us know in the comments!
Thanks Allears, for all the information. Disney is making a visit almost unpleasant what with these costly changes. I am a stock holder and DVC member and I am appalled at the extra costs on top of the park pass costs.
This makes Universal Studios much more appealing!!
