When you’re visiting Disney World, you’ll likely stumble upon at least a few construction projects.

You never know how these might impact your vacation, so that’s why, here at AllEars, we keep you up to date on all those closures! And today, we’re bringing you an update on everything that will be unavailable in the parks and resorts from August 2nd to August 8th, 2021 for refurbishment.
Magic Kingdom Refurbishments
Walt Disney World Railroad
The Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed for over 2 years in Magic Kingdom as Disney continues work on TRON: Lightcycle Run. The work is currently blocking a portion of the train tracks in Tomorrowland, so the classic Disney attraction will remain closed once again this week.

Disney has not shared an opening date for the new roller coaster or the Walt Disney Railroad, so it may still be some time before you can make your way around the park on the train.

The Hall of Presidents
Another attraction that will be close this week is The Hall of Presidents in Liberty Square. Disney traditionally adds an animatronic of the newest president and that’s exactly what’s happening here!

But, it won’t be closed much longer! The attraction is set to reopen sometime in August with a new animatronic portraying President Joe Biden.

Main Street Confectionery
Over on Main Street, U.S.A., the popular treat shop, Main Street Confectionery, will also continue its long-time closure as it undergoes a major refurbishment.

An opening date has not been announced for the sweet shop just yet, but for now, guests can find many of the same treats and snacks at the Main Street Cinema.

Disney World Resort Refurbishments
There are also some closures impacting the Disney World hotels! Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort reopened to guests earlier this month, but both the monorail station and entrance area have remained closed. Work is continuing on both of these projects, though Disney has not yet shared an official date that they will be available.

And, work is also continuing at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. All of the rooms in the main tower have been closed for some time as they receive a new Incredibles-inspired look and now The Wave…of American Flavors is also closed for refurbishment (though you can still find the breakfast at California Grill).

Over at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, the port cochere will remain closed this week as Disney continues its refurbishment. And, in the meantime, guests are being directed to curbside check-in at the Disney Vacation Club Preview Center.

Plus, work is still continuing at Disney’s Old Key West Resort resulting in the continued closure of the den area located near the lobby.

We’ll continue to keep an eye on the progress in these locations, so be sure to check back with us to know what closures may impact your stay!
