Every once in a while, rides, stores, or hotels around Disney World will undergo construction.

And, here at AllEars, we keep you up to date on all those closures! So today, we’re bringing you an update on everything that will be closed from July 26th to August 1st, 2021 for refurbishment.
Magic Kingdom Refurbishments
Walt Disney World Railroad
It’s been well over 2 years since we’ve been able to get around Magic Kingdom on the Walt Disney World Railroad. Construction on Disney’s new attraction, TRON: Lightcycle Run is currently blocking the tracks in Tomorrowland, causing this ride to be unavailable long-term.

And, the closure will continue into next week as Disney continues work on the new roller coaster with no opening date announced just yet.
Check out the latest TRON construction here!
The Hall of Presidents
Meanwhile, in Liberty Square, The Hall of Presidents has been closed as Disney adds President Joe Biden to the show, which happens every time that a new president is elected.

Disney recently shared a sneak peek at the new animatronic and announced that the attraction will reopen sometime in August. We’ll be keeping an eye out for an official date to share with you!

Main Street Confectionery
And, the Main Street Confectionery will continue to be closed next week as work continues on its major refurbishment!

Currently, there is no reopening date set for the sweet shop, and is on Disney’s refurbishment calendar through at least October 2nd. But, in the meantime, Main Street Cinema is serving up all of Main Street Confectionery’s goodies so you can still find many of your favorite snacks there!

“it’s a small world”
And lastly, the classic attraction in Fantasyland, “it’s a small world”, will be closing for a very short refurbishment from July 27th to July 29th this week.

It’s not clear whether there are any major changes planned for the ride, but we’ll keep an eye out for any updates when it reopens!

Disney World Resort Refurbishments
Plus, there are some closures impacting the Disney World hotels! Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has officially reopened for all guests after receiving Moana-inspired updates! But, it’s not completely done yet — the monorail station and main entrance have remained closed, with no exact reopening date just yet.

Over at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, construction also continues on the rooms in the Main Tower. They’re getting a new Incredibles-inspired look and, work is continuing downstairs at The Wave…of American Flavors (though you can still find the breakfast at California Grill).

Over at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, construction will continue on the port cochere causing it to remain closed this week. In the meantime, guests are being directed to curbside check-in at the Disney Vacation Club Preview Center.

And, over at Disney’s Old Key West Resort the den area located next to the lobby will be closed again this week for refurbishment.

We’ve been tracking the updates at both Old Key West and Saratoga Springs since it began last month and each is expected to be completed in three phases. So, be sure to check back because we’ll keep you up to date on what areas of the resorts are closed.

And, that’s it for all of the refurbishments happening in Disney World next week! We’re always keeping track of the latest construction projects.
