The Most Unpopular Rides in Each Walt Disney World Park

Ask a group of Disney fans which are the best rides in the Parks, and you may get a tidy list of popular attractions. But not every ride at Walt Disney World is a runaway hit, and we wondered: which rides are the most unpopular?

Magic Kingdom

Rather than poll the AllEars team, this time we looked at YOUR reviews right here on AllEars.net.

Let’s take a look at each of the four parks and see which rides our readers rated the lowest!

Magic Kingdom

Coming in as the lowest ranked ride in Magic Kingdom is Magic Carpets of Aladdin, with an average reader rating of 5.30 out of 10.

Magic Carpets of Aladdin

The Dumbo-style attraction is nestled in the middle of Adventureland, and, well…we can see the lack of appeal. Why replicate something that the park already has (Dumbo the Flying Elephant)? Sure, you get to ride a flying carpet, and we guess it’s something fun for the young kids to ride, but the lack of original ride design leaves us underwhelmed.

Coming up next is Prince Charming Regal Carrousel, with an average rating of 5.56 out of 10. This one took us a bit by surprise, only because the carousels are a quintessential theme park experience, and we thought Prince Charming Regal Carrousel would at least get some nostalgia points.

The third lowest-ranked Magic Kingdom ride is Astro Orbiter, with an average rating of 5.71 out of 10. This ride also takes from the classic Dumbo-style design but gets some creativity points for being on top of a Tomorrowland structure. Still, this ride is actually a bit terrifying, seeing how high up you actually are!

EPCOT

Figment fans, cover your eyes…the lowest ranked EPCOT ride, according to our readers, is Journey Into Imagination, with an average reader score of 6.98 out of 10. To be fair we’re already off to a better start than any of the three lowest-ranked Magic Kingdom attractions. EPCOT has a lot fewer rides than Magic Kingdom, and SOMEONE had to be at the bottom. Unfortunately, it’s Figment.

Journey Into Imagination

Up next is Gran Fiesta Tour in the Mexico Pavilion, with a surprisingly high average reader score of 7.39 out of 10. This leisurely boat ride may have scored extra points for precisely that reason: it’s a relaxing break in the middle of a busy theme park day. Still, it couldn’t manage to out-rank any of EPCOT’s other rides.

Gran Fiesta Tour

The third- lowest ranked ride at EPCOT, according to our readers, is Mission: SPACE with an average rating of 7.47 out of 10. This is definitely one of those “love it or hate it” rides, with an interesting story but polarizing ride design. Its tight quarters and simulated movements leave plenty of guests wishing they opted for the more tame “Green” version of the ride, or opted out entirely.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

We’ll be totally honest, the lowest ranked rides in Disney’s Hollywood Studios might surprise some of you! Coming in hot in last place is Alien Swirling Saucers in Toy Story Land, with an average reader rating of 6.40 out of 10. Don’t get us wrong, this ride is fun, but we can understand how our readers feel vastly more underwhelmed on this ride than anywhere else in the park, which is jam-packed with headliners hits.

Alien Swirling Saucers

Coming up next is Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, with an average reader rating of 7.38 out of 10. This ride definitely has suffered from being the “forgotten” Star Wars attraction, ever since Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run arrived on the scene. Its jerky motion may also be a contributing factor to why many of our readers ranked it lower.

Star Tours

And can you believe it, the third lowest ranked ride, according to our readers, is Hollywood Studios’ newest ride: Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, with an average reader score of 7.50 out of 10. Maybe it’s because Hollywood Studios is a tough field to compete in, but we were surprised the ONLY Mickey ride didn’t get more love. Maybe enough people haven’t experienced it yet…only time will tell!

Runaway Railway

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Finally, let’s review the three lowest-ranked rides at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Coming in DEAD last (not only at Animal Kingdom, but of all the rides included in this post), is our dear friend TriceraTop Spin, with an unfortunate average reader score of 4.00 out of 10. What can we say other than…sorry?

Triceratop Spin

Coming up next is Na’vi River Journey, with an average score of 6.96 out of 10! Out of all the rides on these lists, this may be the one ride we’ll argue deserves a higher score. Sure, this relaxing boat ride might not have the most “thrilling” plot, but that’s kind of the point! Also, that Shaman animatronic deserves a higher score for its Imagineering prowess alone!

Na’vi River Journey

The third lowest-ranked ride at Animal Kingdom according to our readers is Kali River Rapids, with an average reader score of 7.66 out of 10. Water rides in general tend to be pretty polarizing, with guests feeling less than thrilled if they happen to get soaking wet which, on Kali, is always a possibility.

  1. I love Star Tours and ride it multiple times when I’m at Disney World. I just don’t understand what’s not to like. I do get motion sickness (Mission Space, you know who you are) but Star Tours has never triggered it.

  2. Kali River Rapids?? The wait is always almost 2 hours long?? That’s like Yogi Bera saying “Nobody goes to Yankee Stadium, it’s too crowded”
