AllEars Walking Tour: Let Freedom Ring in Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Square!

We’ve strolled through Adventureland and moseyed along the paths of Frontierland, and today the AllEars Walking Tour follows the little brown river through Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Square.

Liberty Square’s Brown River

Here we find colonial-era design, a few places to refuel, and… no restrooms. It’s authentic — right down to that river we mentioned, which is understood to represent waste that used to run down the roads during colonial times.

But first: we eat. Liberty Tree Tavern is to your right as you enter the land from Frontierland. Here you can tuck into a plate of turkey and gravy, get a sugar rush with Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake, and take in all the period details.

As you continue walking into the Square, you’ll come across this reproduction of the Liberty Bell.

Around the corner from Liberty Tree Tavern, you’ll find a side entrance to Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe. Now’s the time to pick out a new favorite ornament!

Ye Olde Christmas Shop

Just down from the Christmas Shoppe, you’ll find two standalone kiosks selling personalized souvenirs. The Silhouettes cart is a very cool and unique choice for your trip. (Click here to learn more about these!)

For the price of your silhouette, you’ll actually receive two images — mirror images of each other!

Enjoy your own silhouette — or a loved one’s!

A bit further down, you’ll find these customizable Parasols. Choose your design, and the Cast Members will personalize them for you!

Continuing around the backside of this building and then crossing the path (the bridge from the Hub will be on your right), you’ll encounter Sleepy Hollow Refreshments. Grab a Mickey Waffle with strawberries or a waffle sandwich packed with fruit and Nutella or tangy fried chicken!

Sleepy Hollow

Passing Sleepy Hollow (Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich in hand!) and heading back into Liberty Square, you’ll pass the Liberty Square Ticket Office. Check here if you have any issues with your tickets (or you’re looking for a last-minute ticket for the Kingdom’s seasonal parties!).

This little spot is frequently passed over, but we’ve spent some solid time rocking away, watching the World pass by.

Time for some front porch talk!

Up next: a trip through time with America’s Presidents! Hall of Presidents is a great place to brush up on some history, see dozens of animatronics in action, or catch a catnap. (We won’t judge!)

Hungry after all that time traveling? Grab a Mickey Pretzel (those are colonial, right?) or a hot dog at Liberty Square Market. Or — if you’re trying to eat a little more healthfully — see if they’ve got some fresh fruit available (they usually do!).

Liberty Square Market

A refreshed seating area (with some counters you can stand at, too) opened in 2019. There are some umbrellas, but otherwise, this seating area is pretty much open to the elements. Let’s grab a bite and keep going!

We’re over to the left of the central pathway at Riverboat Landing!

When she’s running, the Liberty Belle is a relaxing way to unwind and see Magic Kingdom from a new perspective.

Leaving the Riverboat Landing, you’ll spy Columbia Harbour House across the way. This Quick Service spot serves up satisfying dishes like fried shrimp, grilled salmon, lobster rolls, and the plant-based Lighthouse Sandwich.

We’re in it for some grilled shrimp today. What’ll you dig into? Let us know in the comments!

Time for a snack!

We’re nearing the conclusion of our tour of Liberty Square, but we must haunt Memento Mori for all of our ghostly souvenirs!

Memento Mori

And if you see Memento Mori, you know Haunted Mansion is just steps away! Do you have a FastPass? Head on in to visit 999 happy haunts!

We’ll be right here waiting when you exit the ride. This view!

Our time in Liberty Square has come to an end, but if you’re in need of the facilities and that brown river has you thinking all kinds of thoughts, pass just into Fantasyland for the prettiest bathrooms you ever did see. It’s the Tangled Toilets!

Tangled Toilets

Thanks for strolling along with us. Tomorrow we’ll head deeper into Fantasyland for a long, full walking tour. Strap on your comfiest sneaks!

  1. Alternatively, if you’d rather not have to cross over into Fantasyland just to find a restroom, there are also bathrooms on the second level of the Liberty Tree Tavern. I’ve been able to walk in and use them even if I’m not dining there.
