AllEars Walking Tour: Blast Off to the Future in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland

We’ve been strolling through Magic Kingdom, taking you on a walking tour of the Kingdom’s lands (links in the box below), and now it’s time to go back to the future in Tomorrowland!

We’re starting our tour where we left off: the border of Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. When you enter T’land from this vantage point, the first thing you see is Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe.

Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe

This Quick Service spot serves up classic theme park eats like burgers and nuggets, and they’ve got a toppings bar, which can really help you stretch your vacation dollars.

Plus they’ve got Sonny Eclipse. If you know him, you love him.

And while Cosmic Ray’s is the first thing you see when we enter Tomorrowland from Fantasyland, the first thing you hear (and probably smell) is Tomorrowland Speedway. This throwback ride got a refresh last year, but it’s still as rambunctious and… aromatic… as ever.

Tomorrowland Speedway

Our resident park pal, AllEars Molly, rode Tomorrowland Speedway (and every original Magic Kingdom attraction), so rev your engine, and check it out!

Just down the path into Tomorrowland (and across the way from Speedway) is Star Traders.

Star Traders

Star Traders is a fun souvenir shop where you’ll find a little bit of everything: apparel, accessories, stuffies, Minnie ears, and more. Wanna stop in for some goodies? Go on in!

Star Traders

Next door to Star Traders is Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies — ice cream and smoothies, yes, please!

And just steps away: more shopping! If you’ve picked up a soft serve cone from Auntie Gravity’s, be careful not to drip as you drop some cash on clothing, plush, and more at Merchant of Venus!

As we approach the center of Tomorrowland, we head a bit left, passing by Cool Ship along the backside of Astro Orbiter. Cool Ship is a good place to… cool off… with a Coke product or the Super Lemonade!

Cool Ship

Now it’s time for a spin, several dozen feet up! Astro Orbiter is the most recognizable structure in Tomorrowland, with colorful orbs and an antenna reaching for the stars!

Astro-Orbiter

As you come around the backside of Astro Orbiter and head toward Space Mountain, look to the left. Past the Peoplemover’s raised track you’ll spot TRON Lightcycle Run progress!

Tron Coaster Construction

AllEars pro tip: the view is actually better in Fantasyland, where you can see tons of progress from The Barnstormer queue!

We can’t visit Tomorrowland without blasting off on Space Mountain, right? Don’t forget the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. adjacent to the ride. You can find some space-riffic souvenirs inside!

But first: are you ready to go? Click below in 5-4-3-2-1!

Now for something completely different: Tomorrowland restrooms! These are sort of tucked behind a structure and a bit off the beaten path, so they make a great place for a pitstop!

`Tomorrowland Restrooms

On the other side of the structure that partially obscures the restrooms, we find the Joffrey’s Revive stand. You’ll find hot and cold beverages here, and with nearby bench seating (or moving benches a/k/a the Peoplemover), you can really get in some quality relaxation in this area of the land.

Joffrey’s Revive Stand

Near the Joffrey’s Revive stand, you’ll find the Tomorrowland Stage, where characters get in the groove during Magic Kingdom’s specially ticketed parties for Halloween and Christmas!

Tomorrowland Stage

Peoplemover is just across the pathway from the stage, and just as we always stop for Space Mountain, we stop for the Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover, too.

Take a seat, relax, and let’s… transit.

Our favorite part: this Progress City model that reminds us of the past and the future all at once.

Click below to take a (slightly outdated) ride! Just imagine that you can see TRON construction from up there. 😉

Wow, what a ride, what a thrill. Now we’re moving on to another iconic attraction: Carousel of Progress.

Carousel of Progress

We get a little wistful thinking about this one, and if your feet are starting to throb from our journey through Magic Kingdom, you’ll want to step inside the air conditioned rotating theater for a show unlike any other.

And for Rover. Always for Rover. Get some Fast Facts about Carousel of Progress below!

In the mood for something a little more energetic? Head to Star Command Headquarters for Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin!

Didja get Galactic Hero? (We all get Galactic Hero when we play virtually, so way to go, us!)

Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin

Let’s ride again! Click below, and aim those lasers, space rangers!

Hungry again? That ice cream from Auntie Gravity’s was kind of a long time ago, so we’re ready for refuel. Head to The Lunching Pad, just across from Space Ranger Spin.

The Lunching Pad

Ahhh, we have been waiting for you. Where’s the cheese sauce?!

Mickey Pretzel

Okay, we’re taking a peek at Stitch’s Great Escape!, which is closed, probably forever. Poor Stitch! (Poor us for enduring this attraction for years and years, if we’re being honest.)

Stitch’s Great Escape

Across from Stitch, however, is another attraction with characters who are not of this world: Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor!

Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor

We love this kooky comedy club, where we always help to fill the laugh canister! Raise your hand in the comments if you’ve ever been that guy!

Let’s laugh!

Our tour of Tomorrowland is almost over, but we’re going to take a look at Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant to see if this seasonal Quick Service spot is open. Spoiler alert: it’s not. But if you’ve got a reservation for the Happily Ever After Dessert Party, this is where the (dessert) magic happens!

Tomorrowland Terrace

And with our walking tour of Tomorrowland complete, we leave you with one more shot: fireworks blasting off over a projection-bedecked Cinderella Castle — a reminder that life can come in explosive moments or, as we’re all discovering, in quiet ones, too.

Happily Ever After Dessert Party

Tomorrow we finish our Magic Kingdom walking tour with a stroll down Main Street, U.S.A.. Fire up those smellitzers, cast members, because we’re coming for you!

Which land has been your favorite walking tour so far? Let us know in the comments below.
