As great as zipper-top bags are for holding snacks, you might want to think about hard plastic storage containers for them or something equally sturdy. I've witnessed a squirrel literally rip a hole in a reusable supermarket bag to get at the chips inside, no matter how many times we shooed him away. Anytime you're in a show or a ride with a long line the squirrels and birds have PLENTY of time to mess with your stuff that you've left in your stroller or scooter. - Aren

They can be easy or tough, and you can print them directly from the site or import them into a spreadsheet so you can add graphics for a bit of fun. I've made word searches easy enough for my kindergarten-aged daughter and hard enough for my grandmother.

If you have the Disney Trivia game, you can take a few packs of trivia cards with you to Disney. Some of you may have a long road trip ahead of you, so the Disney trivia cards help you pass the time. You don't need the game board. Take a few stacks of cards and put them in a Ziploc bag.

Even if you fly to WDW, pack a stack of trivia cards anyway. Advice for avoiding late and delayed flights:

1) Try to book early in the day. You are less likely to run into delays in the morning.
2) Try to take a direct flight. Connecting flights offer more opportunities for delays and missed flights.
3) Check in early. This decreases your chances of getting "bumped".
4) Do not fly on the hour or half hour. If you have a choice between a 9:30 flight and a 9:23 flight, take the 9:23 (this has to do with too many airlines scheduling flights on the hour and half hour). Pam Forrester

ALL PARKS - In regards to having bags and whatnots inspected at the parks, the best thing is to have all pockets and pouches opened. Also, if you have a dayplanner or something similar, have that unzipped, too. When we went to Disneyland recently (to see the new Haunted Mansion Holiday), my husband was asked to open his dayplanner for them to inspect. When we park-hopped over to DCA, he was ready for the inspection process and dutifully had everything unzipped and ready to be looked at. - Milady

When we went through security at the Orlando airport, my carryon bag was thoroughly checked. It turned out that my can of Mickey's Hot Cocoa mix was the culprit. The security officer said that powders show up as gels in the security scanner. Fortunately he was very nice about it and I didn't lose my Mickey's Hot Cocoa. - Sherri

It is helpful to use http://expedia.com and http://travelocity.com to get low fares, but you can get lower prices without going to Priceline. Simply remember the airline and time of departure/arrival that you find from expedia or travelocity and then go to the actual airline's homepage. If you book that exact flight that you saw elsewhere, it will sometimes be $10 - $20 cheaper per flight!!! I used this philosophy to help plan my next trip to WDW and actually saved a total of $60. - Mike Faas

ALL PARKS - I found that if you get tired of waiting in long lines, and you don't mind splitting up your party ( maybe to 1, 2,or even 3) some attractions offer singles lines. These lines help fill up unused space. I tried this at Test Track and the normal wait time was 70 minutes. It took me 5 minutes on the singles line and I still got a seat with my parents. - Matthew

We just returned from WDW as well (Oct. 5 -13,'01). My tip for traveling is to either bring a laptop and several DVD movies for the children in your party or stop at an InMotionPictures kiosk located at most airports. They rent portable DVD players and have a wide selection of movies available to rent. You can either return the equipment at another airport or overnight it upon arrival at your destination. You can also open an account on their web page at www.inmotionpictures.com to save time. Most, if not all of the airport televisions were tuned into the news. Constant reports about the terrorist attacks, air strikes, and anthrax were showing up on the screen. My son was so engrossed in the movie we had rented along with the portable DVD player that he did not watch the reports. It was a lifesaver since our travel days consisted of long hours spent at various airports. - Barbara Grosso

ALL PARKS - While wandering around Walt Disney World, I like to carry a small plastic tube for paper souvenirs. I use a plastic tennis ball container that has a lid -- other similar tubes will work well. This allows me to store maps, menus, napkins and any other paper items without them being crushed, wrinkled or soaked. I just put them under a few heavy books when I get home. - Brian Brennan

ALL PARKS - Be sure to have a group destination while walking around the park -- for example, once everyone in your party has ridden Buzz, decide where your group is headed, just in case someone gets separated. Then the rest of the group will continue on to that spot and wait until you regroup. This happened to us recently at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party -- while heading toward the Haunted Mansion, the first parade ended and it was crazy in front of the castle. Our group of 11 broke up into 8 and 3 and luckily we all headed on to Haunted Mansion and waited until everyone met up again. It took only about 20 minutes to regroup, instead of everyone heading off to a "central meeting place" like in front of the castle! It is also always good to have a specific spot for emergencies, like at the Sword in the Stone, for example. Just stay together! That 20 minutes separated was scary. - Suzanne from Patchogue, NY
