It seems outdated, but in so many ways it’s timeless. I love the storytelling, heart of it all, and the script. I know it’s not going to be for everyone these days, but it truly is charming. And don’t even get me started on the song. Jk, I’m going to rant about the amazing song. It should be the kind of classic that super cedes theme park culture, maybe not to the extent of “It’s a Small World”, but it should be close. Like why didn’t I know this song until I was in my 20s??? The tune and lyrics are so catchy, and the optimism is just so darn inspiring.
Pros:
THE SONG, the animatronics and overall presentation, the story, the charm, and the historyCons:
I guess there are cons. 😒 It’s probably considered too long and uninteresting for kids these days. My 2-year-old daughter and niece both loved it, but that might not be the norm.Reviewed by TaraMartin Review Date: 09/24/2024

This show is an absolute classic and I enjoy watching it! However, it is extremely outdated in some parts and can get kind of boring!

This is a must do for every single first time guest! The scenes just short enough to keep kids entertained, there's a lot of different moving parts to look at, and the music is wonderful! Great place to take a break from the heat and sit down.
Pros:
Great music, A/C, delightful show/story, fun animatronicsCons:
May be boring for really young kidsReviewed by DisneyGirlMelissa Review Date: 02/18/2024

A classic! You can really feel Walt on this attraction! It was a bit annoying that people could not stay in their seats in other theatres, so we had to re-watch an entire scene and had MANY interruptions from announcements telling people to stay in their seats.
Pros:
nostalgiaCons:
annoying people who don't listen to cast!Reviewed by BrianR Review Date: 10/23/2023

This is probably the 4th time to do this one and it's the same....exact...story. The first few are fine...tells the history; but it's the last one that gets me. I really think they should update the very last scene with more updated technology. It still references "car phones" and "laser disks"...those were popular about 20 years ago. Maybe something with AI, updated VR or "smarter" appliances (not just the oven).
The attraction had "technical difficulties" when we were on it, which happens, I get it...but we had to watch the first scene all over again THREE TIMES.
Pros:
classic ride at WDW...you just have to ride it. AC, dark and you're off your feet for 12 mins.Cons:
outdatedReviewed by MadisonDuPree Review Date: 10/11/2023

I put this one in the same category as spaceship earth... it's a bit outdated but there is something so wholesome and educational about it that you can't help but walk off being happier and more optimistic.

A great attraction for people who are interested in history and more heavy and educational attractions that also make you feel the whimsical vibe of 70's and 60's attractions, in which the idea of technological progress had a big influence. I love Epcot and the retro Tomorrowland vibe with the mix of outlandish concepts and futuristic ones.
